Although this hotel was a little out of town, we didn’t find this a problem We caught a taxi (6euros)into the city and walked back It was perfect for driving to our day trips to. The hotel is pretty nice, though I’m not sure I’d choose the interior design colors. Room was clean when I first got it. Bathroom door wasn’t closing properly. Lots of TV channels to choose from. The walls are thin- you hear a lot of corridor noise. In general I had good time in spite of a very unpleasant incident with the receptionists (they apologized later). I wouldn’t pay extra for a castle view room as I did this time. It’s really not too impressive as you can see yourselves in the picture. Breakfast was good. Reasonable variety and fresh. Location is good. They started a pilot where they only clean your room upon request. I love the plan but! When I did ask to clean it, my mouth washing glass wasn’t changed and the room wasn’t as clean as when I first got it. I’m quite specific person and my standards are high but I do recommend this hotel in spite of the deficiencies. It’s not much to improve and I hope it will. If you’re sensitive to noise, it might not be suitable for you.

Whist I understand the hotel had recently had a refurb my room (515) was very dated. The bathroom tiles, wood in the bedroom, internal doors and curtains were poor. Worst was the shower cubicle which was a tiny square old-fashioned cubicle with a corner door and a large step to get into. The tray showed signs of age with cracks/marks in the surface. The drainage from the shower was very poor so you stood in water for all of your shower. It rained heavily when we were there and the shower drain made really loud noises of gurgling water during heavy rain which woke me up at night. The door to the bathroom opened inwards making it hard to get in and out of and the door to the room opened out into the corridor which seemed strange. On the positive side the water pressure and bed linens were excellent. The breakfast was also excellent.

We had high expectations of this hotel and the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. However, there were some problems which we had not expected in an inner city hotel. We went out for a meal both nights of our stay and when we got back around 9.45 we fancied a drink only to find the bar closed at 10.00pm. On the first night we did have time for a glass of wine but on the second we were told the bar was closed. This was disappointing as we had already been out and did not want to go out again. We had one full day in Ljubljana and the weather was glorious. When we went back to the hotel after being out all day we wanted to go into the Terrace Bar and sit outside with a drink and to read a book. When we approached the entrance to the bar there was a barrier across it. We asked the reception staff if we could go up but were told it was closed for a photo shoot. This is not what we expected on a hot afternoon. The information from the hotel also said there was a restaurant but when we asked were told it was only for group bookings. These little touches make a difference and consequently we would not stop at this hotel again.

We just stayed there for one night but the location was great to explore Ljubljana. Beds inside the room were extreme good for an hotel.Reception&service were really friendly. I defeinetly can recommend this place. Only small negative point. Parking lot beside the hotel with 25 Euro per day is not so cheap.

Good location for getting to Ljubliana, or catching the freeway for excursions. Free parking onsite!! Rooms were good and had all the basics. If you can upgrade to a suite, they are great. Sauna was hot, clean and not another person in sight. Breakfast has many options, both hot and cold. Omelets can be made to order and are served hot! One morning we were surprised with octopus ”carpaccio” - delicious. The best surprise was when we were not motivated to leave the hotel for dinner - so we tried the Robin Restaurant - the hotel's main restaurant. We were hesitant but found all of the food freshly prepared and at a high level of quality. The service was excellent too and our server knew the menu and dish contents as if she herself were preparing the plates! The prices were very reasonable for the food that was served - on hot plates - as it should be! Highly recommended!!

We stayed here for our first visit to Slovenia and this place was very impressive overall. The staff were really friendly and helpful - we were given a map of the city and information about the buses on arrival which was very useful to get us started on our trip. The room was very comfortable, the bed was roomy and the mattress was the perfect firmness. The bathroom was nice and modern and the shower was very powerful. The aircon was a bit weak and could do with upgrading, but we weren't too hot while we were staying there. The bar area was very nice to chill and have some drinks and the service was always prompt. We hadn't realised prior to booking that the hotel did not serve evening meals, but this was not too much of an issue as we ordered take out using the Wolt app and went out for meals in the city. The breakfast selection was outstanding and we really enjoyed the mini pastries and the fresh coffee. There is also a Lidl right next to the hotel which was very handy for snacks and toiletries if needed. The bus into the city was just outside the hotel and was very cheap (just €1.30 into the city centre) and only took around 15 minutues. It was a great way to see the area and they ran every 20 mins or so. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to others. A big thank you to all of the hotel staff who made us feel very welcome and made our trip very smooth.

It was comfortable and clean. Located near residential area The shower is ok and bed and mattress is comfortable too! But the worst part is that the one and only lift broke down on the day that we checked out. We were struggling like hell to bring our large bags down the stairs without any help from the hotel staff. Only later, i heard that there were one or two helpers from the hotel assisting those who need to bring their luggage down.

NNaveen inder singhHad a nice stay at this hotel but the hotel has some issues. Biggest one of them being parking and carrying luggage to the hotel as there is no way you can park closer to the hotel. On top of it, its a cobbled street. Say goodbye to you bag wheelies…
Secondly, being a 4star property, i would atleast expect a 24hr reception desk. Had a call from trip.com office regarding my eta to the hotel as they would close the reception desk after 10pm and we wouldnt be able to check-in if there is no staff. Thankfully staff stayed late as our flight was super delayed (Perfect easyjet moment) and checked us in before we could head out and get dinner which was past 10:45pm and almost none of the restaurants were serving dinner. So much for the first magical evening in Ljubljana!!!!
Thirdly, there is no lift being an old building which is self explanatory, but travellers with heavy luggage should be warned in advance.
Fourthly, as for the breakfast we expected a proper coffee from a 4star property, but instead there is only a small coffee machine which dispenses coffee on button press. Guys the coffee isnt nice. I would rather head downstairs to the main street with plenty of cafes around. Breakfast itself is just standard, nothing whao. For hot breakfast there is only one option - eggs (served 4 ways) wasnt great, wasnt bad!
Now for the good part, hotel is nicely decorated, clean, rooms are spacious, coffee machine and kettle inside the room. Clean towels, Comfy beds! A complimentary bubbly waiting for you in the fridge, somehow they knew you are exhausted from carrying your bags from the end of the street to the hotel and upstairs!!! 😫

GGuest UserWe booked the spa package including 1 massage for 2 pers., discount to access the SPA, 1 romantic dinner and an executive room. Before our arrival, we tried to book massage and dinner as well as getting a confirmation that we could come with our cat. The staff was not super organized and did not provide a full answer to our questions. They can reserve the massage but not the spa (you have to write the spa directly to book your time there). We never got an answer for the cat. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Amir, gatekeeper, who happened to be very kind and one of the most helpful person in the hotel. Kindly organized parking for us, helped with our journey to the city center and made great recommendations. During check-in, we were kindly offered an upgrade to a top floor room and informed that they will look into the possibility to remove the pet supplement as we could not get a confirmation from their side before our arrival. (Spoiler : at the end we paid). The room was really nice, including a fluffy bed and an amazing bathroom (bath, large Italian shower, private sauna and double sink). The room had large windows offering a wonderful natural light. Minus : we called reception for maintenance as the mini fridge, one sink and the bathtub were broken and not useable… maintenance guy never came … Our time in the spa was amazing. Therapist did a really great job and really focused on making you feel good and relived. Particularly a big thank you to Bawo who really did magic. The whirlpool and saunas were very nice. Staff was on top definitely! Even if we booked 3h of spa access after 2h we had enough, the spa charged us only for the 2h we spent. Tip: book a massage + spa access for not too late in the day and not during weekend to enjoy some privacy. There is a gym in the hotel (you pay extra to access it) but it was a very nice one. Large with plenty machines. Breakfast was good and offered a large choice of classic continental food. Restaurant of the hotel was probably the biggest disappointment. Food was nice but it is not a restaurant but rather a lounge sportive bar. Not ideal for a so called romantic dinner… Do not expect romantisme there … really not at the level of the rest of the hotel and experience. General : the hotel was really nice and we spent a wonderful time as a couple. It has the potential to be excellent but sadly, could not make it due to the romantic dinner that was not one and the maintenance issue.

EEsteban VilelaWe stayed in a top cabin and it was bigger and better than expected. Mattres was fine and the people of the hotel was nice. Bathrooms are shared but at least there's private shared baths so you don't have to shower in the same room that everyone else. Worst part is that the stairs to go to the bed are very uncomfy. Overall, was nice and we would go back.

GGuest UserThis is a little story about how important is front of house and that customer service is essential to run a hotel. I can assure I am not a Karen in any way and I am not easy to be annoyed. We came on a business trip for 1 night only, exhausted from the car ride from another side of Slovenia. We came about 5 pm, with 20 degrees and full sunshine outside beaming through glass windows of the hotel. Although it says the hotel has air conditioning after we informed the reception that it doesn’t work, our receptionist ( who looks like she had a bad day) explained that IT IS WINTER. And the air conditioning is not turned on in the whole hotel. Use the windows instead. We then dreamt about the coffee. Not a single kettle to use in the whole hotel, restaurant closed. We couldn’t even buy a bottle of water (no water in the room). We went to town. We received a parking hob with a £20 deposit for the parking space and at night before our very busy departure I wanted to return it. I have been told that I have to unpark my car in the morning, put the parking block up, LEAVE THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET with no alternative parking available, get myself back to the hotel desk and then give it back. When I said it is quite problematic to do in the morning this way I would like to return tonight, I got reprimanded, rudely, that I have to do it otherwise my deposit will not be given back. I then heard her slagging me off in Slovenian when I was waiting for the elevator. I hope someone takes notes for the staff training… The room was clean and cosy, slightly small to my liking but good value for money.

GGuest UserGreat hotel - it’s a shame that the staff let it down.
Prior to our arrival, we contacted the hotel to let them know that we would be arriving after check-in had closed (at 10pm). They were very helpful and provided us with instructions to enter the property by ourselves using an app.
When we arrived, we managed to get into the lobby (using the app), but the room key we were given was different than the one we were told on the phone and email. As a result, we were unable to enter our assigned room.
Assuming that our room number had been changed, we tried the key in the door that matched the new number (as there were no staff or guests around, and no one was answering the phone or emails). It opened and revealed a couple, asleep, inside. Obviously, we were mortified that we had disturbed the hotel guests, and also terrified that we would have to sleep in the hotel lobby until check-in opened at 6am.
After about an hour of searching around the lobby for clues about who to contact, we knocked on some private doors. Thankfully, a man came out and used a master key to let us in. It was clear that we had woken him up (by this point it was 2am). Again, we were sorry to have done so, but were left with no choice.
After we had successfully entered our room, I sent an email to the front desk letting them know what had just happened and that we would like them to apologise (on our behalf) to the guests and staff we woke up. They never replied. In fact, every time we mentioned it, the staff member made excuses like “I wasn’t there so I don’t have anything to do with it” and “the guy who organised the late check-in was training so he made a mistake”. There was absolutely nothing in the way of an apology or compensation for the mix-up until we checked out and it was already too late. We would like the hotel to know that mistakes are bound to happen, so it is imperative that they have a back-up (emergency number or night staff) for guests who have been given the wrong room key.
In addition, since we had been travelling for a while, we were running out of clothes and needed to do a load of laundry. We followed the instructions for the housekeeping staff to collect our laundry but found that when we had returned to the hotel, the laundry had not been done and the room had not been made up. When we went downstairs to inform the staff of this, we were told “housekeeping doesn’t go back to rooms to clean them after you took off the do not disturb sign, I’ve worked in lots of hotels and this is always the policy”. This member of staff eventually helped us find an laundromat, but the contempt with which we were spoken to was unacceptable and uncaring of the fact that we, too, have plenty of experience in the hotel industry as customers. An apology would have sufficed.
Overall, it was a great hotel in a fantastic location. Just make sure you’re okay with passive aggressive communication before you book.

NNorthmaniaThe hostel is only 5 minutes walk from the station, do not look for the entrance, the reception is in the English pub, you have to leave a small deposit for the key on your arrival. The rooms are on the first floor of this pub, they are spacious, the beds are of good quality, safe under the bed to put your belongings. Bathroom and toilet clean and in correct number. The city center is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The small negative point is that there is no real reception if needed, nor a kitchen or common room. Good for a few nights.

JJjjjjoooyyCheck-in is different from where you live. I didn't receive any information before check-in. If you want to stay, friends suggest to confirm with the hotel first. Fortunately, there is a friendly lady (should be a cleaner) at the accommodation to help call and ask, and the problem is solved quickly. The price is quite good for a separate room in this area, the shared toilet and shower are also very clean, and there is a shared kitchen where you can cook and eat.

GGuest UserI think this hotel is very good. When l went to the room which l had booked it wasn’t ready yet, and l called them and they gave me a better room. The rest seems pretty ok, the location and the amenities are just fine. There are so many rooms in this hotel, l would say not everything is perfect. The more you pay, the better you get.
