Friendly and helpful staff. Just that there are not many sockets to charge electrical devices.

Very Good

I arrived late in the middle of the night from the Liverpool airport and couldn't check-in until around 7-7:30 a.m. I was mostly grateful to just have a place to lay my head down and catch up on some much needed sleep. Thankfully, the family that runs the hostel was very friendly and supportive when I came in. Everyone at the hostel was very nice and I felt "at home" right away. I appreciated that. I certainly enjoy the feeling of being "welcomed" rather than feeling uneasy and watched which can happen in many other cities and countries. Like others have mentioned, the overall building could use some renovations but it is sufficient enough for one or two nights. The location is ideal. If you are looking to get a quick glance or preview of the center of the city, it is very convenient to walk to. I was glad to have access to most of the main sites as well as the waterfront (near the Tate and Liverpool Museum) by foot without having to get on a bus.

It was basic and the bedroom was small but everything was smooth and did what was promised. It was super cheap and good as a place to flop if briefly in Liverpool.

Place was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short. As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good. Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well. Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.
