Booked a deluxe room, got given an accessible room facing the back with jail bars outside the windows. Toilet had no cover, floor creaky. While on the toilet and with the door lock turned, someone opened the room door and tried to get in. Scary experience.

Starting with the positives: Breakfast and Breakfast staff were lovely. There is lots on offer, its basic unless you eat meat then you’ve got some toasties and bagels for you but overall we’re happy with breakfast Location: We stayed for the football and is in walking distance of anfield. Negatives: Room is rundown, but again we stayed for the football so we weren’t expecting the ritz. The room above us pipes leaked whenever they had a shower, resulting in water raining from the ceiling. Our phones were on charge underneath and though phones are fine we had to bin the chargers. We told a member of staff however as the hotel was fully booked we couldn’t be moved- again we understand this as a match day. But we weren’t told this we were just left with it and a bunch of towel. When raised a complaint the next day the manager wasn’t in so I was told to email. I emailed but also gave my phone number and email for the manager to contact me. It has been three weeks and I’m yet to hear anything I also paid over the phone for my stay on the Friday night and has for some reason been charged double but this is being disputed with bank currently. Parking is okay but if you have a big car or a nice car I would recommend finding parking near by with a parking driveway app instead, a lot more secure. Views- we had to keep our curtains shut the whole time as our room overlooked the bar and had punters drinking sat in front of our window so we had to keep them shut. Overall if you need an easy location for the football it is alright but there are better options elsewhere

My partner and I stayed here recently to go to a Liverpool game at Anfield. The location was perfect, about a 10 min walk to the stadium and no more than 10 min in Uber to the town (about £7/8). We made use of the hotel bar, the staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, with kettle, tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom had shower gels, shampoos and conditioner. It was my partners birthday and I’d messaged ahead to ask for some drink in the room, they made the room look lovely. The rooms are fairly basic but for what you pay it’s good value. We’d definitely stay again!

I recently stayed at the phoenix hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I could ask for. The location was perfect great bar great staff will definitely return.

Still waiting for our £150 deposit back after being told it would take 24 hours by one receptionist- to chase it up after not receiving it - to be spoken to like dirt and called a liar by the other receptionist. A week later we are still waiting they’ve told us not to ring again and to sort matters only via email. Absolutely disgraceful and this particular woman absolutely needs to learn some basic manners and people skills. 7 days later and they still have our money!

We stayed here on the weekend for an event at the Blackstone Warehouse, a 20 minute walk away. This is an excellent location for both Liverpool and Everton football grounds too, both within a 10 minute walk. The area is just off the city centre and from our experience, quiet enough to sleep at night and social enough in the day. The bar and outdoor area are clean, tidy and open. The drinks are well priced and the staff are really friendly; this is of course common in Liverpool. The room was relatively small but comfortable and lovely inside. The shower was powerful and the bed was super comfy. The value for money was insanely good. I would highly recommend a stay here and when I return to Liverpool, I will certainly book here again.

Stayed 2 nights, location good. 10min walk from Anfield, 40min into the city, 10min by cab or easy bus route. Really pleased with room, good storage space, very clean bathroom and bedroom, comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities available and room plenty adquate enough for our needs. We had inclusive breakfast which was substantial for us, nicely displayed and good variety of choices, also offered a toasties or bagel which were both nice. Nice bar area, and we managed to get a drink on our return late. All staff very friendly and helpful, gave loads of advice regarding transport/directions. Will definitely stay here again if we visit Liverpool.
