The Hole in the Wall

Fantastic food and great stay. Thanks to all the team for a great time.

This is our second visit to The Hole in the Wall Pub. Visited last month and had a great meal. We decided to come again to see if the standard was the same. It was! Plus, it was the new Autumn Menu, so the three of us had different dishes to choose from. We ate in the snug for both meals, which had a friendly, cosy feel to it that added to the occasion. We were welcomed by a member of the staff, who remembered us from last time, which was a nice touch. Staff were very attentive and provided everything we ordered to a high standard, both the food and the presentation. Ordered slow braised Gressingham duck leg confit, Chef Special braised short rib beef, and I had the homemade lamb curry, pilaf rice, mango chutney, poppadum, and onion bhaji. We were all pleasantly full, had a few minutes rest before I ate the homemade treacle tart and ice cream. Chef came and chatted, and was pleased to see we had come a second time to taste his food. Food so good we have booked a Sunday Lunch later this month.

One night stay over. We had a lovely 1 night stay at this quirky place before popping into Cambridge the next day. We stayed in the superior studio with a great double bath and view of the horses next door. We did have trouble getting some of the TV channels to work, the plumbing noises from other rooms was quite noisy and did disturb our sleep. Not sure if it was people having late showers or a washing machine somewhere. And we wanted to play darts downstairs but they were all broken. However... The food was amazing. Couldn't fault it. And the staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Overall we had a great stay over.
