Property Description
The Ivens Hotel was home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public. The iconic building is in every way representative of the XIX century a period which has marked the spirit and culture of Lisbon. The hotel has 87 unique and comfortable rooms of which ten are spacious suites including two signature top floor suites. The entrance was mapped to resemble the journey of Ivens and Capelo, two of greatest Portuguese explorers to unveil Africa back on the XIX century. The hotel holds three cinematic dining areas designed by Lazaro Rosa Violan who offer a journey through Italian cuisine, al fresco dining and a Barra area.

Very good hotel, good location, a few minutes walk from the Bica and Justa elevator. The hotel is beautifully decorated, full of Lisbon style, with details everywhere. The breakfast is delicious and the service attitude is great. I highly recommend you to experience it.

The room has enough space and is very hygienic. You can open the balcony door but cannot go out. The service is also good, but the location is not very convenient. At this price, there should be more and better options. I probably won't stay here again next time.

Fabulous location, hotel staff great, restaurant and bar was not. We stayed here 5 nights and are Marriott Platinum members. We received no upgrades and our room was a queen bed as opposed to the requested king. Not great for a 5 night stay. Again, the hotel staff was great. Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant was not. Every day we visited the bar and the restaurant and we felt unwelcome. They staff here was way more interested in outside guest than hotel guest. We had breakfast here daily and liked to enjoy a late afternoon drink after walking all day. We were not allowed to sit at the actual bar but a side seat, and this was daily. We also were here during the power outage and while the hotel staff did an amazing job the bar and restaurant seriously failed. While the location was great I would seriously question staying here again due to the unfriendly staff at the bar and restaurant if that is a priority for you.

Stayed here for the first time on a 2 night layover before heading onto France for a longer trip celebrating my partner’s birthday. Room and hotel common areas were stunning and felt like an oasis located in a central part of bustling Lisbon. We also had a celebratory birthday dinner at the hotel restaurant (Rocco) which the concierge helped us reserve a few months prior. On the day of, there was a bit of a mixup with the dinner reservation but the hotel management more than made it right. Sign of a team that is serious about taking care of their guests. Would recommend The Ivens! Also would recommend the hotel restaurant - wine list is fantastic and it’s quite a scene.

The Ivens is an amazing hotel and we are so happy we chose to stay here. The location is perfect - close to everything and great for walking - and the staff is above and beyond. They even arranged for a doctor to visit us in-room when my husband had a chest infection. A prescription cleared it up within a day and allowed us to enjoy our vacation. It was very thoughtful care and attention. Our room was bright and airy and very comfortable and we loved the Acqua di Parma toiletries. The Hotel's resto, Rocco, is not to be missed. A gorgeous space with great drinks and food. Would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.

There are many things that make for a fine hotel experience, among them location, staff, room amenities, restaurant/bar, and general ambience of the facility. Come to The Ivens and you will find the best in all of these. Located within a short walk from most everything (won't be flat!!!), we never hired transportation except to and from the airport. You will not ever experience a friendlier staff in the front (bellmen, concierge, and check-in), and the rooms are kept impeccably clean. Stepping into the restaurant/bar will take your breath away!

The property is fabulous and the rooms pretty cool. There's a big but though. The restaurant is packed and you can only sit at the bar for a quiet drink (and if you want to you are forced to order food). For me that's key on a business trip; to do work with a drink rather than sit next to someone chewing noisily, and in 2000 hotel visits Ive never experienced that. there is a bar where you can but I was told they didn't know if it would open because of staff shortages. NOT a business hotel and I moved hotel after one night to somewhere I could opt to dine (or not) in a calm relaxed atmosphere.
