República Bed & Breakfast

República Bed & Breakfast is my new favorite stay while in Lisbon. The room with balcony - splendid, the kitchen/breakfast - just perfect, and the living room and common areas - like home; all this is for me more than I can ask for. Moreover, its proximity to all means of transportation, Campo Pequeno, and Calouste Gulbenkian gardens and museum make it unmissable. Last but not least, the hosts, Manuel and the ladies of the house, were so kind and so welcoming that I would always prefer this place instead of any other place, including hotels :) I will be staying there for sure next time in Lisbon. Obrigado!

I strongly recommend Republica Bed and Breakfast to everyone. It is a great place with a fantastic and friendly atmosphere. The location is excellent, the staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, and the prices are affordable. I'm sure we will be back.

Nice stay with good people. Kept the premises neat and clean. Bread is cooked fresh and taste very nice. All near by attractions are very good. Ease of transportation next by Metro and MALL has made our trip so memorable. I would definitely recommend to choose this stay.

We loved the location. It was close to the train station and bus stops right outside. There was a supermarket under the hotel so everything was close by. The accommodation itself was very clean and the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. A large mirror. Air con. Lots of wardrobe spaces. The lounge was big and the balcony had a lovely view over the bull ring. The breakfast was good for a conventional option. Filter coffee was adequate but lots of options for tea and coffee. For cooking own lunches and dinner there was plenty of facilities.

When we reserved a room for 2 Adults and a 14 y teen, I was not expecting much for my first B&B experience… We were up for a big surprise! Comfort, cleanliness, location and sympathy, all above the expectations. Mr. Manuel, our first contact, made sure we were well received and maintained an open communication (he was not present at the time). Ana was there with the biggest smile and made sure we had the most enjoyable stay. The beautiful decoration of the hotel is surrounded by amazing artwork giving a unique touch to this B&B. The location is perfect if you are looking to stay in the Center of the city, with restaurantes, shops and transports near you.

My father and I were traveling in Portugal and booked Republica because of its location. We were highly impressed by our stay's comfort, cleanliness, efficiency, and friendliness. We actually booked a second stay for the last day of our trip before we left the first day! Manuel began communicating via email almost immediately after booking, sharing information and ensuring we had a seamless arrival experience. When we arrived, Manuel took time to share very helpful information about Lisbon and gave us the best food recommendation we had on the entire trip (TimeOut Market, please do not miss this food hall; it was one of the highlights of our trip.) The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were shared, but the ratio of rooms to bathrooms meant we never had trouble accessing them. Try to get a room with a balcony, as the view is fantastic, looking over the bustling city below (the picture in their profile is 100% accurate). Public transit made it super easy to get around, and there are food and grocery options just downstairs. It was only 15 minutes from the airport, making arriving and exiting simple, and we took the bus to pick up a rental car mid-trip before heading North. The breakfast offering was simple and delicious. I will be staying here again the next time I'm in Lisbon.

Great reception, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff, close to subway, very nice common areas (dining area and living room), very comfortable bedrooms and beds. The shared baths were not a problem at all. We had to leave before breakfast, but were offered food to go and it looked as if breakfast would have been very nice. Loved it!

Everyone was so welcoming and the stay was perfect! The room was comfortable, and Manuel gave us a good overview of what to see and how to get there. Highly recommend this great place. There are close restaurants and museums. The breakfast made the day much easier.

Very nice spot to stop in Lisbon. Manuel was a fabulous host, extremely thoughtful and helpful. The place was very clean, very well appointed, tasteful and complete. Quirky location across from the arena, with easy access to the metro and all kinds of restaurants and shops. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
