Best Hotels near Chafariz do Carmo, Lisbon

This hostel is operated like a 2-star hotel, providing cozy room with private bathroom and comfortable bed. The business must've undergone major renovation in recent years as everything looks new, practical and comfortable. It is also conveniently located close to the Rossio Metro station and all attractions including Castelo de S. Jorge Castle, the Lisbon Cathedral and Praça do Comércio.

Hotel is located very close to the Rossio Train Station. We stayed for 4 nights and it was a good stay. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and even steps from the hotels door. Very convenient. The Metro (Subway) was less than a 1 minute walk although we did not use it. Room was basic but very clean. Housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. Front desk was always attended and very helpful and pleasant as well. Will stay here again.

Pictures on the website are from the new building and be aware that once you arrive you can get one of the old rooms (which are dirty with old furniture and insects) that belongs to the next building which is the Estrella Dos Santos PENSION , and they will charge you the same amount as you stayed in a hotel ($232 for two nights) . They put us in a terrible dirty , very tiny room with no view (there was a wall ). We paid for triple room but because they needed to removed/clean an smashed spider from the dirty wall and some stained/dirty sheets from the room they give us a doble room ”while we wait ” (in the same building Pension) the manager said that we will stay there for our whole stay and charged us for a triple room when we stayed in an awful double room. We chose this place for the reviews -8.5 stars (! ) , for the ”laundry service” and the for 17 minutes walk to Saint George Castle, once you are there they say that there is no laundry service and we have to walk almost half hour to get to the Castle and to the CENTER. We felt very foolish. This is the first time that we had a terrible experience thanks to the very poor skills of a manager who treated us like they were doing us a favor. Unfortunately, we couldn't cancel this reservation because we paid when we arrived at the reception area which was very nicely decorated, after this, they sent us to the next building which is connected with the new building. And of course the manager didn't want to refund us at least with the difference for the price of the triple room with a double. I do not recommend this place. Pictures can show themselves

I am deeply dissatisfied with the online booking service offered by Zenhotels. I made a reservation for what I thought would be a private room with 2 pets allowed and made a payment of 97 euros, which according to the booking confirmation received, was the total amount for the reservation. I was supposed to only pay 6 euros for the tourist tax and 10 euros per pet for the entire stay. Upon arrival at the hotel (WOT Lisbon Nomad), I was informed that the reservation I had made did not correspond to a private room and that in order to get one, I would have to pay an additional 234.51 euros on top of the already paid 97 euros (this would be for the upgrade to a private room + 10 euros per day per pet). Obviously, this news at the time of check-in and with such a price difference (more than three times the original value) makes it almost impossible for the customer to seek an alternative. Furthermore, I tried to explain to the hotel that the website was not very clear about private or shared rooms, as the room description did not indicate that it was shared. Additionally, it did not mention that the payment for the pets was per day rather than for the entire stay. The person responded that if the website did not have complete information, it was not the hotel's problem. I countered that if they were selling their services through third parties, they are just as responsible as the website promoting them to ensure that the information is accurate; otherwise, they are complicit in a scheme to deceive customers. Finally, I decided not to proceed with the proposal because I found it disrespectful, an excessive charge compared to the original offer, and unprofessional. Therefore, I feel that I was cheated out of the 97 euros that I paid and that I could not use the offered service.

Comfortable, clean and well run. The staff were helpful in clarifying travel issues such as the intermittent rail strike. Our room was good but the lift, although claiming to fit 4 people, is really big enough only for 2 and I think a sizeable hotel. should have more. On the plus side you can get up almost as early or late as you like, because the buffet breakfast is served from 6.30 a.m. to midday. And the dawn chorus of twittering birds outside the window is nice if you like that sort of thing. The hotel is not as central as its title implies and in the area there's a shortage of evening entertainment in the way of bars. A couple of good restaurants, the Churrascaria and the Hamro Ghar (Nepalese, would you believe!) serve good food and beer however.

This is our second time at Rossio Hostel - we thought it the best hostel we'd ever stayed at in 2019, and now it is even better. Not enough words to tell you everything great about it - though if we boil it down to two words it would be THE PEOPLE who work there are what makes it amazing. Sunday Fado night is not to be missed - when we were there Rossio brought in Jessica Fernandez, who is an amazing singer and she was backed by two highly skilled guitar players - one on classical guitar and one on the Portuguese guitar. Pizza night on Wednesday also included a cover band that was a lot of fun. Aside from all this Rossio Hostel is in a fantastic old building from the late 1700s/early 1800s (post-earthquake) - lots of character. Rossio sits right on Rossio Square - a very central part of Lisbon with the metro and trains right outside your doot. Now, as to what makes Rossio Hostel really stand out - well, that is the people. A big thank you, and kudos, to the staff at Rossio: Madalena, Leavis (hope I'm spelling your nake right my friend), Rita, Paula, Mackayla (also hoping I get your name right), Victoria and especially Elsa who cooked up amazing scrambled eggs and crepes Monday to Friday. I didn't catch the name of the weekend cook - also a big thank you to you and the young lady helping you on the weekend. There are other staff that I didn't have a chance to get their names. The staff at Rossio Hostel make you feel like you are at home - my partner and I also felt like we were part of their family for the six days we were there. The big downside to Rossio Hostel is when you have to leave - the staff make it really hard to leave, because they make you feel so welcome and at home. We've been there twice and we will absolutely be back. If there were a way to give a rating higher than 10 we would certainly do it. Thanks again to everyone at Rossio Hostel for making our trip so special and memorable. I stayed four days in the WOT hostel in Lisbon, what means three nights. The hostel in in a great neighborhood, fun places around all the time, service is fun, they are 7/24 there to help you with all kind of informations about the city. Every night they had an activity (drink nights and even a movie night) for the early hours, there is this cool guy organizing party-visiting together for very reasonable prices, the beer is cheep, the common area is just perfect for chilling and to make new friendships very easily. If i plan my trip again to Lisbon (and i will, because that's one of the must fun cities I've ever been in my life), i'm sure i will book in WOT again. (I got they recyclable cup for memory.:))

We stayed here for a week and have just returned to the UK. We loved our stay and found the hotel to be really welcoming and a really high quality boutique hotel in a great central location for exploring Lisbon and especially Baixa. We researched the hotel through Tripadvisor and booked through Hotels.com and we found the hotel lived up to the reviews others had left - the reached out even before we left the UK to organise a pick-up from the airport if we needed it and were really helpful throughout the stay. We were in room 2A and it was beautiful and serviced everyday and the room had all we needed and a lovely bathroom and great shower. We arrived from the UK early morning, using the arranged car, and it was clearly too early to checkin but they stored our bags and provided some directions. When we came back to checking it was smooth and they provided a lovely bottle of Port for us to enjoy in the room . The location is so central for trams , tours and key sites and the staff also provided some handy recommendations for restaurants. We found all the staff to be unfailingly helpful and every time we popped in or out they always engaged with a Bom Diaz / Ola or just Hello. Great location, lovely room and good service - would definitely recommend.

After reading the negative reviews, I decided it was worth reporting on our stay here. We were attending Web Summit at the Altice Arena and chose the VIP Executive Art's (sic) because it was a short walk from one end of the venue. Our room faced the street and was pretty spacious and comfortable, with no noise issues whatsoever; our only complaint was that the mini-fridge didn't work. We enjoyed the breakfast included with our rate, which was quite tasty and offered dozens of items, including interesting ones such as coconut brioche. The staff and elevators were fine, and we ate at two restaurants in the next block and enjoyed them both. And getting back to the airport by walking to Oriente station was very easy. Side note: I'm a comics fan and was startled and pleased that our room had a view of the giant superhero mural outside the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon as a tourist, you'd do better to stay in a quainter and more atmospheric part of town. But for our needs, we were pleased with the experience we got at this hotel.

We got a private room there cause we wanted our own space. Looked decent in the photos. When we arrived the room was quite dirty. Dirt on the walls, toothpaste around the sink and the towels we got had brown stains in it. We did not experience the privateness of our room because the bedroom door has a 2cm gap underneath it so all the stamps on the wooden floor and all the people coming and going (which was alot) along with the maintenace room next door felt like they were in our room. Alot of other smaller things like malfunction noises in the ventilation and very poor quality in the bed. “Breakfast included” was white bread, jam and coffee. BIGGEST PROBLEM is that the bathroom has alot of black mold in it. For example all around the shower and the shower glass and around the sink. After two nights we contacted the staff and told them about all these things listed above and we wanted to move out of that room and go somewhere else. So they told us that I had to send an email which would be forwarded to their supervisor, which I did. I checked upon them multiple times with calls, emails and direct conversation. Their supervisor, who was not there, would contact me which he never did. I am well aware this is not a 5 star accomodation but this is not ok in any accomodation that you pay for. I’ve been all around the world staying in allkinds of accomodations but this was my worst experience. Not only because of the room situation but because of the staffmembers who didnt even try to make things better by for example clean the room, offer us new towels offer us new bedroom. We paid 156€/night there. When the client points out things that are poor and could easily be fixed, just fix it and at least try to make them happy. WOT Lisbon Patio … Do better !
