Wang Jiang Lou Hostel

The place is magical — because the village itself is magical. I’m so glad I chose to stay here, as the view from the window is simply breathtaking. The room itself is nice but nothing special: small, entirely made of wood, just like in the photos; the bathroom is quite basic. Still, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There aren’t any real common areas. The village is extraordinary, and I highly recommend visiting — it was one of the highlights of my month in China. For those who don’t know, it’s located inside a national park, so there’s an entrance fee. You should take a taxi to the park entrance, pay the (not too expensive) ticket that allows you to stay in the park for up to five days, and then buy a small additional ticket for the open-air bus, which takes about ten minutes to reach the village.
