Traveling throughout Gansu province can tend to be hectic so it’s quite lovely to find a spot like Kaoshan Daying to stay at. David was very friendly and helpful, especially with his English language skills. He was always available by WeChat to answer questions. The yurts are spacious and have necessary amenities including electric blankets and heaters, as well as hot water kettles. They are also clean, most importantly. The shared bathrooms provide shower flip flops and clean towels with lockers and hairdryers. There are sinks outside the yurts and they are also very clean. The restaurant provides a large variety of ingredients to make a delicious hotpot. It was a quiet night when we stayed and we were able to get a great night of sleep. Our stop there was quite short, only 12 hours, but we would’ve liked to have stayed longer.

When you meet staff inside the hotel, they also greet you cordially. I traveled on the Qinghai-Gansu Great Ring Road for 7 days and 6 nights starting from Xining. The hotels along the way belong to Zhangye. I am specifically here to review it, so I must give it a good review, because my accommodation along the way was really miserable. How miserable it is, Chaka, Dachaidan, Dunhuang, Zhangye. I stayed in a good hotel for the last night and had a good sleep. Without further ado, let’s go straight to the real stuff. This hotel is very cost-effective and the hygiene is the best for me. The cleanest and best environment I have ever stayed in. The owner and his wife provided very good service. They helped carry my suitcases and gave me free watermelons. They are very nice people. After chatting with the owner, I learned that the hotel room belongs to the owner. So the boss said that hygiene and service must be good, and you can't smash your own sign. The couple is a very real person. You guys can go to his house and have a look. The price/performance ratio is really high, no better than those 4 and 5 star hotels. Poor, worth recommending.
