We knew this was a renovated motel, so our expectations weren't high as there's only so much that can be done to size/layout of older motel rooms. We stayed in room 14 which had a king-sized bed, small refrigerator, microwave, and television. We never turned on the TV nor used the microwave, but the refrigerator was on and cold when we got there (so many times when you check into a hotel, you have to figure out how to turn the refrigerator on). The A/C is across the room and worked pretty well although it doesn't do anything to remove humidity. We did notice some "damp rid" things around the room to help address that, and we found that leaving the door to the room partially open during the day while we were there not only helped the room feel fresher, it also provided better lighting inside. The bathroom was the real winner for this place. The toilet was "comfort height" and they provide quality toilet paper! They provide ample shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap - none of that Fort-Knox-locked body wash and shampoo dispensers on the shower wall business that so many chains have gone to. The shower head was removable to be hand-held with adjustable shower stream. The towels were plush. And no sign of mildew or anything. Each room has chairs that sit outside the door on the porch which was nice for sitting out in the cool evening. There's no ice machine, but you can get ice from the motel clerk when they are there. If you're a big Disney fan and want to stay somewhere that has some theming, and you want to stay in Marceline, this place would work. It's not really walkable to downtown as there aren't sidewalks, but there is plenty of parking so that's not an issue. There's a gas/convenience store across the street and a DG/Market across the main road.
