We checked into this hotel for six nights on our honeymoon in Sicily in July 2024. Whilst the general condition of the hotel lobby and bedrooms were okay, the safety of the pool area and the hospitality is the worst I’ve ever experienced. On our first day our 11 year old son who was with us, jumped into the pool and accidentally landed on the step causing a severe cut to his shin. There were no staff around and we were searching the unattended mini bar by the pool in an attempt to find some ice for his leg. Some 7 months later, he still has a sever gash to his shin. At breakfast the chef was nowhere to be seen and the one and only waitress had to go looking for him to make some eggs. The selection and quality of the food was beyond poor. The hotel felt like the Marie Celeste there was one receptionist one waitress and they were doing the job of everybody concerned. Feeling highly unsatisfied with our stay and the service we were receiving, we opted to check out two nights early. The management agreed and verified in an email that they would refund us for one of these nights as a goodwill gesture via bank transfer. I provided my bank details and on return to the UK, I followed up this refund only to be told that they would not be refunding our money and they did not care - completely reigning on the agreement and the trust that we placed in them. I’m now in pursuit of this refund via our credit card company but I urge you to stay away from such a dishonest hotel which has seen better days. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
