Li River Craftsman Village, Guilin

Very cute hotel! It's far from Guilin town center but definitely worth staying are there are many activities to do there

This has been truly a spectacular find. Wow wow wow!! Since before our arrival the staff has sent me a list of things to do during our stay. They have been so helpful and accommodating. It wasn't overcrowded with people. When we arrived someone took our luggage to our room and the friendliest lady gave us a tour of the surroundings and then we took an Ox cart over the river towards our room 😱. We made our own chopsticks, we swam in the river, my wife made her own tie dye scarf, and we had such a fun evening with catching fish with our bare hands🤣 My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We will most definitely come back to this destination. This place is an absolute gem!

Best experience in China, this village and the people working there are just amazing. If you are in this area you MUST go there. Stay at least 3 days to feel the calm and the sweet atmosphere and don't hesitate to do the activities offered (with a special mention for making our own chopsticks). One of our best stays in china with our family. This place i a small village. Like most in china it’s newly (re)build. There are guestrooms. And attracts day visitors. Mostly chinese families to do activities or swim in the river. We extended from 2 to 4 days. After spending much time in hot and crowded cities this stay in a natural environment was perfect. The rooms and facilities are beautiful. There is a small swimming pool. We were lucky the water level was low so you can swim in the river. Three days later it rained hard and it was impossible to swim. But doesnt occur often. We also did several activities like pottery workshop which is free for guest. Only pay when you want to have it baked. Will take 20 days, around 80 yuan but dont ship international. The place is about 1:20 from guilin west train station and 50 minutes to li river three star ferry port. And 1:30 from yuoshan city.

Would definitely recommend this place. You get to see the real old Chinese architecture and it’s very interesting to see the different crafts. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is tasty

Dong Li Gu Cun was the most wonderful experience we had in China, with comfortable rooms and delicious meals. The staff is highly receptive and warm, with very good tips for the trip, and attention to details. We felt in heaven, in a awesome scenic area, with the true Chinese spirit. There are many options of activities throughout the village, from craftsmanship of chopsticks, porcelain, preparation of traditional food and beverages and much more. There are also many activities for children. Special thanks to Xia, Kay and Chen, for the cultural immersion and special attention, since we were the sole foreigners in the village. We highly recommend the Li River Craftsmen in the Spring Festival if you want to have a traditional experience, and we regret to spend only 4 days there, because we would like to stay at least a whole week. We intend to return in the near future.
