Brit Hotel Limoges Centre Gare - Hôtel & Spa
4.3/547 Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at the Brit Hotel, Limoges, for the most part. Although the room was unusually small (two people could barely fit), it was clean and comfortable. Up until checkout, the only odd event was an employee offering my wife a drink, which she refused, but was then served a beer nonetheless. No big deal, but she then was charged for it. Anyways, not a deal-breaker. The surprise at check-out actually started just as we arrived, two days prior. We asked about paying for breakfast, and were told (by the same employee), that it was included with our room fee. We thought that was great, so decided to spend that money on the pool/spa “experience” (which is not included – 30 Euros/person extra). Fast forward back to check out, and we were told we owed for breakfast, as well as other administrative charges (city taxes, etc.) that we had already been charged upon checkin. Oddest of all, as we explained the situation to the manager during checkout, she acknowledged the mistakes of her employee, but nevertheless insisted on us paying all supplemental fees (in some cases, for the second time). At no point during the process did hotel staff show any hint of “customer service”, benefit of the doubt, taking responsibility for their errors, etc. 100% strong front against us, the customer. The money was not the point for us, we just paid it all without contest. But the principle still stings. Reluctantly, we would not recommend you stay at this hotel.
Novotel Limoges le Lac

We have stayed here several times this year. Blague 1: Having tried various items from the particularily uninspiring plain typed sheet ‘menu’ we are convinced the kitchen cannot cook so we are resigned to just having the burger each time. Blague 2: We both ordered the ‘chicken burger’ (authentic French). My wife’s duly arrived but nothing for me. Five minutes later mine arrived with no apology but cold fries (what is going on in the kitchen). Blague 3: the maitre d’ three months ago was a complete novice who tried to open a bottle of champagne with a corkscrew😁 now he’s in charge he cannot see the customer failure of serving a table at different times. When I said “C’est une blague” he said it wasn’t Blague 4: the €17.50 chicken burger was three chicken nuggets. Blague 5: the offered cheese ‘Tome’ was the oldest crustiest cheese imaginable. Clearly offloading old stock. I do long for the Novotels that we have used and enjoyed for years; this is a joke but I guess you have worked that out.
