Although Limoges is not a tourist city, we also stopped temporarily on the way to Lyon, but the city still gave us many surprises. Mercure’s hardware and software are good, the design is very modern, and the hotel facilities are relatively new. The rooms are definitely relatively large in Europe. The hotel is not far from the old city. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the most famous butcher shop street in the old city. It takes about 12-13 minutes to walk to Saint-Etienne Cathedral. There is a Chinese restaurant called Au Panda in Limoges. I talked directly with the owner and his wife what they wanted to eat, and the taste was quite good. They are famous for their hot pot, and they also have stir-fried dishes, which are much better than those foolish Chinese buffets!

We have stayed here several times this year. Blague 1: Having tried various items from the particularily uninspiring plain typed sheet ‘menu’ we are convinced the kitchen cannot cook so we are resigned to just having the burger each time. Blague 2: We both ordered the ‘chicken burger’ (authentic French). My wife’s duly arrived but nothing for me. Five minutes later mine arrived with no apology but cold fries (what is going on in the kitchen). Blague 3: the maitre d’ three months ago was a complete novice who tried to open a bottle of champagne with a corkscrew😁 now he’s in charge he cannot see the customer failure of serving a table at different times. When I said “C’est une blague” he said it wasn’t Blague 4: the €17.50 chicken burger was three chicken nuggets. Blague 5: the offered cheese ‘Tome’ was the oldest crustiest cheese imaginable. Clearly offloading old stock. I do long for the Novotels that we have used and enjoyed for years; this is a joke but I guess you have worked that out.

Hotel very close to Limoges downtown, just 5 minutes walk. Staff all over the hotel very very friendly and welcoming. Room not large, but ok for a short stay. Air Conditioning working properly, which is not always the case in Europe. Breakfast was also very good. When we arrived, they told us that due to Covid 19 they will not clean the room the next day. For us, this is now an excuse to save staff costs. But when we asked the next day to have our room anyway cleaned, a big YES OF COURSE was the answer. So again : the staff attitude makes the difference, and these people earn a 5 star rating.

The hotel is very well located, the comfortable and clean apartments, with careful decoration. The possibility of a very affordable parking in the city centre is appreciable. However, the autonomous arrival process, certainly practical, based on QR code, is a little troublesome. In our case, the most difficult was to find out that the request for the bed sofa (expressed at the telephone check-in, that was my mistake because hearing the person at the telephone, In this facility you can only read SMS and email and you are not used to human voice ...) had not been respected. After 6 hours of road and locks, I'm going to the adventure to find the stick, a cushion, a cushion envelop, a clutter, etc. And to prepare the famous bed sofa ... Finally, the stay lamp remained in trouble for 3 days though The hotel is located in the hotel and is located in the hotel. Nous avons appréciés l'accueil de l'hôtesse et surtout, personnellement, j'avais demandé une chambre au dernier étage, je n'avais pas reçu de réponse, mais ma demande a bien été prise en compte. Nous avons eu l'impression d'être tout seuls à l'étage (5ème) tellement c'était silencieux, chambre 522 donnant sur une petite cour très au calme. La literie nous a surpris car le matelas confortable, réagissait aux mouvements normaux de position, un surmatelas comme dans les autres hôtels du groupe corrigerait sans doute ce petit défaut. Bons oreillers, salle d'eau très propre, l'eau chaude arrive vite et très très chaude. Petit déjeuner sans grand intérêt, toujours par rapport aux autres hôtels de la chaîne. En résumé un bon hôtel bien situé.

This hotel is a few Euros cheaper than the B&B chain next door but its in a different universe. Premier Classe do have some nice hotels (for example Chartres) but this one is the pits. Rooms all smell of smoke, are dark, dirty and low ceilinged. Toilet/shower unit is dark and complete with cigarette holder by the sink. It smells of piss. It's fine for workmen stopping with mates, but definitely one to avoid if with family. Lot of people milling around outside smoking and on phones. We didn't stay more than 30 mins before paying for another room at the next door B&B. Oh, and their WiFi is rubbish too.

The location is very good, the train station is diagonally opposite, the hotel has a parking lot, parking is convenient, but you need to pay another five dollars. Three of us stayed in a large studio big enough for 4. It was well equipped and comfortable and despite having no air conditioning, a fan was provided and shutters kept the room cool. We only had one night as part of a long journey but the kitchen area is definitely good enough for a self catering break. Given the weather, a balcony would have been nice but there are lots of benches to sit on by the river. Parking has secure access so definitely worth paying for as there as little parking on the street outside. Continental breakfast was fine with a nice little outdoor terrace. You can walk along a lovely river path into Limoges in about 25 minutes. It's a nice town, but try to avoid Mondays! It was our only day there and most shops and restaurants were closed!

A clean, well located Ibis in a lovely part of France. Having travelled overnight from the UK, I was extremely tired on arrival and was pleased to discover that check in is open from noon. Like most budget hotels, the room is fairly basic but offers everything you need aside from tea/coffee making facilities (a vending machine is available in the lobby). The bed is reasonably comfy although you only get one pillow each so some guests may struggle to get properly comfy. The mattress is also on the “firm” side. The location is adjacent to the motorway so those rooms at the front may experience some traffic noise (I was at the rear of the building). However, the windows are double glazed so it’s possible this isn’t an issue. Car parking is good and seemingly secure. The staff are helpful and polite. Breakfast is an unlimited continental offering - fresh and tasty with great coffee. For what it costs, Ibis Budget are great!

Although Limoges is not a tourist city, we also stopped temporarily on the way to Lyon, but the city still gave us many surprises. Mercure’s hardware and software are good, the design is very modern, and the hotel facilities are relatively new. The rooms are definitely relatively large in Europe. The hotel is not far from the old city. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the most famous butcher shop street in the old city. It takes about 12-13 minutes to walk to Saint-Etienne Cathedral. There is a Chinese restaurant called Au Panda in Limoges. I talked directly with the owner and his wife what they wanted to eat, and the taste was quite good. They are famous for their hot pot, and they also have stir-fried dishes, which are much better than those foolish Chinese buffets!

Nous avons appréciés l'accueil de l'hôtesse et surtout, personnellement, j'avais demandé une chambre au dernier étage, je n'avais pas reçu de réponse, mais ma demande a bien été prise en compte. Nous avons eu l'impression d'être tout seuls à l'étage (5ème) tellement c'était silencieux, chambre 522 donnant sur une petite cour très au calme. La literie nous a surpris car le matelas confortable, réagissait aux mouvements normaux de position, un surmatelas comme dans les autres hôtels du groupe corrigerait sans doute ce petit défaut. Bons oreillers, salle d'eau très propre, l'eau chaude arrive vite et très très chaude. Petit déjeuner sans grand intérêt, toujours par rapport aux autres hôtels de la chaîne. En résumé un bon hôtel bien situé.

The hotel is very well located, the comfortable and clean apartments, with careful decoration. The possibility of a very affordable parking in the city centre is appreciable. However, the autonomous arrival process, certainly practical, based on QR code, is a little troublesome. In our case, the most difficult was to find out that the request for the bed sofa (expressed at the telephone check-in, that was my mistake because hearing the person at the telephone, In this facility you can only read SMS and email and you are not used to human voice ...) had not been respected. After 6 hours of road and locks, I'm going to the adventure to find the stick, a cushion, a cushion envelop, a clutter, etc. And to prepare the famous bed sofa ... Finally, the stay lamp remained in trouble for 3 days though The hotel is located in the hotel and is located in the hotel. A beautiful establishment, therefore, but that really would deserve a little soul and human presence with a ruler worthy of this name.

Three of us stayed in a large studio big enough for 4. It was well equipped and comfortable and despite having no air conditioning, a fan was provided and shutters kept the room cool. We only had one night as part of a long journey but the kitchen area is definitely good enough for a self catering break. Given the weather, a balcony would have been nice but there are lots of benches to sit on by the river. Parking has secure access so definitely worth paying for as there as little parking on the street outside. Continental breakfast was fine with a nice little outdoor terrace. You can walk along a lovely river path into Limoges in about 25 minutes. It's a nice town, but try to avoid Mondays! It was our only day there and most shops and restaurants were closed!

We have stayed here several times this year. Blague 1: Having tried various items from the particularily uninspiring plain typed sheet ‘menu’ we are convinced the kitchen cannot cook so we are resigned to just having the burger each time. Blague 2: We both ordered the ‘chicken burger’ (authentic French). My wife’s duly arrived but nothing for me. Five minutes later mine arrived with no apology but cold fries (what is going on in the kitchen). Blague 3: the maitre d’ three months ago was a complete novice who tried to open a bottle of champagne with a corkscrew😁 now he’s in charge he cannot see the customer failure of serving a table at different times. When I said “C’est une blague” he said it wasn’t Blague 4: the €17.50 chicken burger was three chicken nuggets. Blague 5: the offered cheese ‘Tome’ was the oldest crustiest cheese imaginable. Clearly offloading old stock. I do long for the Novotels that we have used and enjoyed for years; this is a joke but I guess you have worked that out.
