Hotel Iro

Very enjoyable stay. Double and twin rooms were basic but clean and what you would expect for a 2* hotel. Hotel Iro is basically an annex to the adjoining Hotel Sergios which provides the reception, restaurant and bar facilities for both hotels. Hotel Sergios is a good quality 3* hotel and the restaurant and outdoor dining area are its best features. The food is especially good in terms of choice and quality with different Greek dishes every night as well as the usual international choices. Hotel Iro residents can use the pool and sun deck at Sergios as well which is good as Sergios pool is sunnier and Iro pool has lots of shade. All staff were friendly and helpful. Cleaners came every day and bedding changed every 2 days. Brilliant location on main Hersonnosos Road close to beach, shops, restaurants etc. Bus stop for regular buses to Heraklion and Malia very close to hotel. We booked a 2* half board deal for 2* prices but we felt like we had a 3* holiday. Would therefore recommend hotel to others especially couples and adult groups.

This hotel is joke. We have stayed here for two weeks. We have arrived around midnight and we could cry. There is no reception in Iro hotel and you will be having your meals at the hotel next door. There is no warning when you book your stay with love holidays. Be careful it spoiled our holidays big time! Iro hotel is dirty and the owner (lady) is very rude and she is a liar as well. Check in you have to do in Sergios hotel next door to Iro hotel. When we saw the room we have booked we cried. It was not matching pictures and descriptions at all. There was no flat screen tv as advertised. Mattress was so bad my wife couldn’t sleep all night due to springs poking her bones. We went to talk to the receptionist in Sergios. Receptionist/owner (lady) was so rude to us. She said she can’t do anything, you have booked this room and that’s it. When I have asked her where is the flat screen tv, she replied not all rooms have been refurbished. We have found old the in wardrobe 🤦🏼‍♀️. She agreed to change the mattress for a better one. Balcony is so small you can only fit two chairs and tiny table. Cleaning is happening every 3 days and bed change once a week. In heat and hot weather is not good enough. Shower curtain got mould on it. Swimming pool dirty. Corridors had no light on on some nights, we had to use torches on our phones. Fridge filthy.Food is edible, not many choices for vegetarians. When I’ve asked for a bit of plain rice they pointed me to the rice that had bacon in it 🤦🏼‍♀️ . We don’t recommend Iro hotel at all. Definitely won’t be returning. This hotel should be shut or refurbished properly. With the right description and pictures

We booked a twin room, what we actually got was two single beds side by side supported by building blocks! We decided to move one of them and put the frame on floor. You have to use the next-door hotels restaurant and the food is mediocre, there is a good selection of dishes but none of them are labelled so some times you are not sure what you are getting. The other hotel only does All Inclusive, this one Half Board so if you a drink with your evening meal you have to pay for it even tea or coffee. You can't even get a glass of water because they cover up the water dispenser.
