Ibis Budget Villefranche

The hotel is located right near the motorway (to the south and north), a few kilometers from Lyon (and its "famous" - but now no longer so "notorious" - tunnel) ... and is nevertheless in a quiet and pleasant green location, with trees and a large lawn. The facilities are generally the same as those you have come to expect from Ibis Budget hotels for many years. Particularly pleasing for dog owners: you just open the outside door of your hotel room (on the ground floor) ... and you immediately find yourself on a very beautiful lawn ... and can therefore walk your dog around the hotel (... with a poop bag, of course!). - The breakfast buffet is not opulent - but completely adequate and varied (although sausage and ham are not available). - The hotel is ideal for people passing through on the way to Spain (or the Mediterranean coast of southern France) and strategically halves the remaining driving distance (... at least to Roses or back to Cologne). - What is also pleasing: very close to the hotel there is a LIDL petrol station (note: card payment) with comparatively very cheap (...by French standards) petrol prices. From the hotel you can also take a walk to the really beautiful Saone and observe a huge number of swans, ducks and other water birds there (...there is also a camping restaurant on the river bank there... and a small draft beer costs around 8 euros). - What is annoying about the Ibis Budget (...and currently not only this Ibis Budget) is that the prices have noticeably moved away from the so-called "budget" in recent years: 2 people + small dog + breakfast are clearly "scratching" the psychologically "important" 100 Euro mark... and that is - I think - unfortunately very little "budget"!

Very easy to access for a break during a trip on the A6. It is functional and very correct in terms of bedding and bathroom. The soundproofing of the rooms is also correct but we did not have any party people. The breakfast is excellent value for money. Only downside: impossible to adjust the heating and it was not very warm

Gewoon goedkoop hotelletje met een matig ontbijt. Beetje aftandse kamers maar meer verwachte ik niet voor die prijs. Er zaten veel mieren op de kamer. Sanitair is aan een opfrisbeurt toe. Personeel was vriendelijk en correct. Ik kreeg 10 % korting in het nabij gelegen restaurant.
