I can't fault my experience of The Carlton Hotel, from the cheerful and helpful staff, to the lovely spacious room & bathroom. The breakfast room was wonderful, (complete with views of the square and Opera House), matched by the excellent choice of food. A wonderful way to start the day!

I stayed at this hotel very early, but at that time it seemed to be in the center of the railway station. In fact, it is very convenient to go to the Grand Plaza. The front desk is very enthusiastic. Really quaint and quirky hostel in Lille's downtown core. Very nice staff and great for socializing, especially in their open patios! Rooms are tidy and clean including bathrooms. Breakfast is served with a wide range of options (definitely try the cheese) and a large choice of beers. Only downside was no lockers, but hopefully that's a feature in the near future!
