Arrived Friday evening a very pleasant welcome from the receptionist who remembered that I made a special request for a room without a sloping roof. Our room was at the back of the hotel, it was small, although the bathroom was a reasonable size but rather dark, there was some noise from an adjacent bar but it didn’t really bother us.. it was very warm.. no air conditioning but you could open the window, however in doing so it allowed mosquitoes into the room so my husband and I ended up with a few bites, not very pleasant. When I mentioned this to the manager he was very unsympathetic and said it was due to the weather ! We were asked on arrival if we wanted our room cleaned during our stay (environmental ?) we said yes just the once, we were given extra towels, bins emptied, carpets vacuumed, some of the dirty towels were still left in the bathroom, coffee cups and glasses not washed, coffee and water bottle not replaced. There’s a good selection for breakfast and it’s in a great location, could be a lovely hotel with a little more attention to detail

Nice little hotel in the older part of Lille. My room was overlooking the square which was nice. The room was small but had everything you would need, it was clean and as previously stated had a brilliant view. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the train station, really easy to find. There are some excellent restaurants near by and a couple of decent places for a drink, we dropped on with the weather so had a couple of drinks sat outside in the square. The staff were great and very helpful, more than happy to arrange transport. Breakfast was okay, I would say what let it down was the price. All in all a pleasant stay.

I stayed at the Hotel de la Treille for 1N whilst in Lille. POSITIVES - Express breakfast provided - this as useful for me as I was running a bit late for my Eurostar! - The public rooms downstairs are really quite stunning, Great decor. - Convenient location: lots nearby in easy walking distance. - Great view of the main square, although as Lille seems a really lively town, it might be a little loud for some in the evening! NEGATIVES - The room was really quite small. Even for one person. For two people it would be rather unworkable. - The shower is a little unwieldy. Whilst incredibly powerful and as hot as you would need, it is so powerful that it can be easy to accidently spray water around the bathroom. It is also too low down for someone as tall as me (over 6 ft). OVERALL: fine for one night, but the price vs. smaller size room would make a longer stay less advantageous.

Very nice hotel, great location. Spacious modern rooms, at least the one I had. 2 issues: there is no air conditioning Wha icy may not be unusual for Lille. Breakfast is simple but fine ; a little slow in replenishing The MAJOR problem was WiFi: very unstable. Sometime was fine, other times slow and other times would just disconnect and then not able to reconnect. Staff not helpful in resolving the problem. They need to fix this

Arriving at the end of the afternoon, we were treated to a smiling welcome, certainly but very academic, listed almost "robotic" in a great hubbub due to other arrivals, and a very surprising question: "would you like the Housekeeping during your stay ? » (at 140€ per night I think this question does not arise). No help with luggage even though we were very loaded and without an elevator. Huge disappointment upon discovering the tiny room (there are no other words) but whose surface area is indicated on the site so so be it, let’s move on! Hangers all "cracked" so impossible to hang coats (and no other place elsewhere in the already very cramped room), no handkerchiefs, bathroom without heating (hence the door of this one open to our arrival but which still takes away space in the room) and toilets where you can only sit at an angle if you want to avoid the wall… But the worst was spending the first night: qualifying as terrible, between the neighbor's pee which we could hear drop by drop, the coughs and snoring of the other neighbors, the various ups and downs of the stairs and the cries/laughter of customers in the corridors which gave us the impression of being in bed with us: no soundproofing; but having said that earplugs on the bedside upon arrival are a real clue on this point! As for the breakfast, it is not catastrophic but there is some letting go and some bad choices: the scrambled eggs look like sticky runny eggs (both mornings), the pastries are dry and few in number , the industrial fruit juices from a mediocre distributor and the jars of jams from 5 different brands placed on the top of a shelf all dripping without cups are quite repulsive… Positive point: the location in the city center and the careful decoration. Unfortunately this is not enough to return to the Hôtel de la Treille.
