This hotel is hard to review. It's been rotating back and forth between five-star, excellent, and one-star, extremely bad. I stayed there for two days, but I really don't know how to review it. I want to give it a good review, but I'm also very angry and want to give it a bad review. Let’s talk about the advantages first.
Advantages: The location is pretty good. The hotel is located in Shuhe Ancient Town. The ancient town is just outside the door. The geographical location is very good. The boss is also quite enthusiastic. There is a large yard in the hotel, about two hundred to three hundred square meters. The landscape is also very nice (see Figure 2 for details of the courtyard). The boss was very enthusiastic and offered to upgrade my room. I booked a standard king-size room, but it was upgraded to a larger suite. The room focuses on Naxi culture. According to the owner, the wood inside is a hundred years old (see Figure 1 for details).
So far, everything is perfect. It is an unbeatable five-star hotel. But the actual check-in experience that followed was a bit outrageous.
What I encountered after actually moving in; as you can see (see Figure 1 for details), there are about three beams in the room, and they are about 1.7 meters above the ground, so if you are taller than 1.7 meters, you need to lower your head or walk with your back bent when walking in the room. Of course this is not a big problem. The boss has already reminded us of this before we checked in, and we accepted it.
Second, there is a bathtub in the room, which you should have noticed is on the way to the toilet. At first I was quite happy that I could take a bath, and the boss even provided a disposable bathtub cover. But the problem is, the bathtub is broken. Yes, it is broken and can't put out hot water. I've tried many times. It really doesn't make hot water. The bathtub also caused me to get injured, but I’ll talk about that later. . . . .
Thirdly, since this homestay is converted from an old Naxi building, there is no air conditioning in this house. Of course, to make up for this, the owner specially prepared electric blankets. The boss told us this in advance, and we accepted it, but the toilet will still be very cold, especially because there is a problem with the hot water facilities in this store, so taking a shower will be very cold. The way from the electric blanket on the bed to the bathroom to take a shower is simply a nightmare. The winter in Lijiang is really cold.
The fourth, most important and most popular thing. It’s that bathtub again! This bathtub has a step built into it and is paved with pebbles (see Figure 3). So, of course, it's easy to fall into it, especially when it's across your path to the bathroom! ! ! Late at night on my first night living here, I got up to go to the bathroom. I hit my head twice, then I walked carefully, hunched over. Then he slipped on the damn cobblestone and fell hard. The tip of the stair was very sharp and left two cuts on my belly, but the worst injury was on my knee, which was in so much pain that I almost couldn't stand up.
Since it was three o'clock in the morning and there was no reliable trauma hospital within five kilometers, I could only order a takeaway and have some disinfectants delivered so that I could treat the wound myself. The next day I also booked a ticket to climb Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. . . It was a disastrous night.
The next day, I limped up the mountain, getting more and more angry and more and more painful. I came back to check the wound, and it was indeed black and purple. It was incredibly painful. I had no choice but to book a flight for the next day in advance and ended my trip.
After thinking about it, I decided to give it a bad review. Although everything looks good, with a large yard, large rooms, and a welcoming boss, the actual living experience is simply... a disaster.
