**WARNING: NOT A SMOKE-FREE HOTEL**
This accommodation falsely claims to be smoke-free. My sister and I checked in after a long day in the mountains, seeking a restful night. Initially, the staff was friendly, but things took a turn around 10 PM when a strong smell of smoke filled our room, making it unbearable.
Despite being exhausted, we endured the smoke until 6:30 AM. We contacted trip.com’s customer service, but they provided misleading information. Mr. Yang, the manager, was smoking in the lobby and denied the hotel’s smoke issues, blaming other guests instead. This dishonesty is appalling, especially with ashtrays visibly placed throughout the hotel.
The hotel refused to refund us, claiming they were not given sufficient time to address the problem caused by their own staff. As we checked out, they offered a free upgrade, but their attitude was dismissive, and they did not assist with our luggage.
If you're visiting Lijiang, avoid this dishonest hotel and its misleading smoke-free guarantee.
