Huang Garden Inn（Grand Water Wheel）

Beautiful Traditional Inn with Thoughtful Host in Lijiang Ancient Town. I had a great experience at Huang Garden Inn (Grand Water Wheel). The host named Jack was amazing—he even picked me up and helped carry my luggage to the hotel, also when check out, which I truly appreciated! Although I couldn’t check in early because the hotel was fully booked, I still had a wonderful time exploring Lijiang Ancient Town, which is all within walking distance from the inn. The inn itself has beautiful traditional wooden decor, with the charming vibe of the old town. I especially loved the colourful bougainvillea flowers around the property—it added so much warmth and character. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the ancient city, close to attractions, yet peaceful. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting an authentic stay in Lijiang!

Our stay was amazing at this place. Jack, the guy from our place was very helpful assisted us where to meet and helped us with our luggage. He also really helpful with us to rent a scooter to ride around Lijiang town. He also very considerate with us checking out from our room late as we overlooked at the check out time while outside. This accomodation has a amazing rooftop view too!

Lovely hotel right in the middle of Lijiang Ancient Town! It took quite a bit of walking to find the place but the owner was very nice to find us at the main road and carried our luggages to the hotel down the stairs and back when we were checking out! He also gave us lots of recommendations of good food and places to visit which made our trip much more enjoyable! Our only issue was the tour we booked for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Tour with the hotel. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but more of the driver, but we received no information about the tour until the day before at 9pm with news to prepare to be picked up at 5.20am, which was a bit last minute. We were only given the vital information about the tour at the location itself and the driver had a thick accent which made it hard for us non-locals to understand him. Otherwise, the hotel made booking the tickets and driver very simple and they also provided oxygen canisters for the high altitudes. Overall, yes to the hotel! Would come again if I were to find myself in Lijiang again :)

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel located inside the Lijiang Ancient City. The location is very convenient, close to everything, but still peaceful and quiet at night. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with a local touch. The owner was very kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed, from giving directions to helping us arrange transport. I especially loved the traditional architecture. I had such a great experience here and would definitely love to come back again next time I visit Lijiang. Highly recommended!

Strategic location inside the old town. Owner is very attentive and offered to pick up our luggages. The room is spacious, clean and well designed. This is a very recommended hotel if you don’t mind climbing stairs to the main street.
