This room is on the second floor. You can see parts of the old town and some mountains from the room, but not Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The overall design of the guesthouse is beautiful, with many photo-worthy spots that are very Instagrammable. However, there’s still a lot of room for improvement.
First, if you’re arriving by a private car, you may not be able to reach their designated pick-up point—it has to be a taxi. Although they state that luggage pick-up service is included, there were four of us and they only helped with two suitcases. We check out early at 7:30am, and since there was no one at the front desk, we had to carry our luggage from the second floor to the roadside ourselves.
They mentioned providing welcome fruits, a refined afternoon tea, tea tasting, and some vouchers, but none of those were actually given to us. It would be better if they just didn’t mention about those things when booking.
The showerhead in the room was already malfunctioning—the water temperature kept switching between hot and cold.
A few days before our stay, I asked about the airport transfer price. After check in, I asked the front desk to help book the taxi, I was suddenly told a different price. I questioned it, and fortunately, they ended up giving the originally stated price of 80 RMB. Not sure where the issue was.
Also, if you’re expecting a parcel delivery, make sure to go to the front desk yourself to get it, as they won’t notify you via WeChat or bring it to your room. When we stayed at another guesthouse in Dali, they delivered the parcel to our room, the comparison was a bit disappointing.
Overall, the location is decent, but the service needs improvement. If you’re just looking for a place to take nice photos, it could be worth considering.
