Sarah's View Inn

Stumbled upon this place by accident and it ended up being my home base in Yunnan. I stayed here three separate times. I was first met at the path entrance, my luggage taken care of and shown the way to the Inn, which was really helpful for a first timer. The rooms are spacious and clean, and I loved that each floor has a little shared lounge to hang out in. The lounges on the 2nd and 3rd floor have amazing views over the city, especially at night and don't miss the 3rd floor viewing platform! After two months of traveling China, this was without doubt my favorite spot, because of the hospitality. The hosts, Sarah and staff were so helpful, sorting all my tickets and transport so I could just relax and enjoy myself. Lijiang was really useful as a base for day trips. I visited the Legend of Romance show, Yulong Mountain, Blue Moon Valley, and Tiger Leaping Gorge. But the highlight was something unexpected Sarah arranged. I was invited to stay for three nights at a family guesthouse in a Pumi village. It's a fairly long drive but it's so so scenic (lake and river photos). And the stay was an authentic village experience. Hot tea and homecooked meals, walking village paths, hiking on their family mountain to collect firewood... On the drive back, we stopped to spend more time at the stunning Lugu Lake. A massive thanks to Sarah and staff for everything. You really manage the place with heart and soul.

I had the pleasure of staying at Sarah’s View Inn during my recent trip, and I can’t thank Sarah and her younger brother enough for making sure my stay was so memorable. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the essential amenities, perfect for a comfortable few days. Sarah was incredibly thoughtful—she contacted me via WeChat to check if our luggage was heavy and even had her brother come to help us with it. That extra touch made a huge difference after a long journey. The route to the inn is a bit of a climb, but the stunning view from the top more than makes up for it—it’s truly breathtaking and a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day. The location is fantastic, just a short distance from Lijiang’s ancient town, which offers a wide variety of food options. During my 3-day stay, we also headed to TLG, and Sarah was kind enough to let us leave our luggage with her for a day (have already checked out) , which was so helpful and much appreciated. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible hospitality. Sarah and her brother are a wonderful team—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any questions or booking requests, whether it’s for tours, tickets, or anything else. It’s not every day you find such genuine care and dedication to guest satisfaction, especially for someone visiting China for the first time.
