Cathay||Old town palace Inn (Lijiang Old Town Dashuiche Branch)

We had a wonderful stay at Old Town Palace Inn in Lijiang. From the moment we landed, the staff went above and beyond—they arranged a car to pick us up from the airport and even had someone meet us to carry our luggage through the narrow cobbled streets (cars can’t get into the ancient city). That same staff member later gave us a personalized walking tour of the old town, which really helped us get our bearings and understand its cultural history better. Our room overlooked the rooftops of the ancient city with the mountains in the distance—absolutely beautiful. The location is right in the heart of the old town, so you’re surrounded by everything: winding cobblestone streets, curved rooftops, great coffee shops, rose cakes, costume rentals, and some fantastic restaurants. One thing to note: the hotel is fairly close to bar street, so you’ll hear music at night. It wasn’t overwhelming for us—more of a soft, rhythmic beat in the background—but if you’re a light sleeper, it’s something to keep in mind. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel’s traditional architecture really adds to the charm. The staff was consistently kind and accommodating—I even texted them in the mornings to ask for coffee, and they always brewed a fresh pot of Yunnan's finest beans with a smile. Overall, it was a comfortable, memorable way to experience the charm of Lijiang’s ancient city. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic stay with wonderful hospitality.

The hotel is nicely located in the old to find. You may have difficulties finding it though. With your luggage, it is hard to find your way there, up many stairs. So, I recommend that you reach out to the hotel before checking in. They are kind and helpful to provide help for you to find it, and will also help you with the luggage. Very kind and helpful staff. They seek to provide a feeling of home for you, and are not afraid to make eye contact, engage you in conversation and ensure you are settling in okay, and have all the help you need while you are visiting Lijiang. Excelent little home hotel in a very good location in the heart of Lijiang Old Town.A 10 minutos walk from the water wheel and from almost any of the most interesting spots.Very confortable beds in our family room and excelent service from the staff helping us to book the tickets to the Jade Dragon Mountain Cableway and giving any advice.They almost do not speak any English but with Google translate you solve the problem.As you cannot reach by taxi to the hotel(there is a 10 minute walk to the spot you can take a Taxi or a Didi),it is recommended to ask them to do the transfer in from the airport or train station.You can contact them using" we chat " once you make the reservation.The only weak point I would say that it is the breakfast which it is a little basic if you are western
