One of My Best Stay Experiences—Authentic & Unforgettable
This was one of my most memorable hotel stays, and I’ve stayed at many top-tier, five-star hotels around the world. While this may not be the most luxurious in terms of facilities, it more than makes up for it with its genuine charm and warmth. The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. This welcoming vibe perfectly complements the enchanting atmosphere of this beautiful ancient city.
The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially from our top-floor room. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, offering a spectacular panorama of the old town and surrounding mountains. The location is ideal—perched on a small hill, it provides an elevated vantage point for those stunning views, though the short uphill walk may be a slight effort due to the altitude. But trust me, it’s worth it.
If you’re visiting Lijiang to immerse yourself in its relaxed beauty and rich culture, there’s no better place to stay. I originally booked for three nights but quickly realized I’d need more time—next visit, I’m planning a full week to truly unwind and soak it all in. This isn’t a place to rush; it’s a place to slow down, savor the moment, and let the magic of Lijiang embrace you.
I can’t wait to return.

We chose this accommodation because of the view and it certainly did not disappoint. It’s exactly as pictured. The windows could be folded to the side and the view looks right out of a painting. The room was clean, artfully designed, with a smart toilet.
Mr Liu, the owner of the accommodation received us at the road and helped with our luggage. He was warm and friendly, which made our stay very pleasant. We had some queries on ordering food and he rendered assistance immediately.
The accommodation is located at the top of a hill, nestled in the residential area. There are some downhill steps leading it, and another set of downhill steps with a ten minutes walk to the old town. The steps were fine for us as we were prepared after reading the reviews. Moreover, Mr Liu helped with our luggage during check in and check out.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to travellers looking for a peaceful stay!

My friend and I enjoyed our stay in the 'Deluxe Panoramic 720° View Double Bed Room With Bath Tub' at The Streets Where The Wind Lives (风居住的街道). The hotel housekeeper Mr Yu was incredibly kind, caring and helpful during our stay at the hotel - he went out of his way multiple times to ensure that our stay was comfortable and safe. Both the hotel owner and the housekeeper were always readily contactable via WeChat and made our stay in Lijiang really pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Lijiang Ancient Town!
Number of nights of stay: 3 nights
Hotel location: 500 metres (approximately 10-minute walk) away from the north gate of Lijiang Ancient Town. Will need to walk about 2 to 3 flights of cobblestone steps to get to the hotel from the vehicle drop-off point; we transported our luggage from the vehicle drop-off point to the hotel on our own but you can also contact the housekeeper for assistance. About 30-minute DiDi ride from the hotel to Baisha Old Town
Room: The 'Deluxe Panoramic 720° View Double Bed Room' was located on the third floor; there was no lift but the housekeeper kindly helped us to transport our luggage to our room. There were one king-sized bed, two bedside tables (with type I wall power sockets), one long table in front of the bed, one rocking chair, and floor-to-ceiling windows with a beautiful view of Lijiang Ancient Town. There was a sky roof in the room too but it was covered with tarp on the rooftop during our stay. The bed and pillows (one soft and one firmer memory foam pillow for each guest) were comfortable and the room was clean. The only downside was that the wardrobe was small with limited space to hang our clothes
Bathroom: Spacious bathroom with shower area and bath tub. Toiletries (e.g. hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soap), disposable toothbrush/toothpaste, and towels were provided. Rubber bathroom slippers and disposable bedroom slippers were provided too
Hotel amenities: Additional CNY 20/pax for breakfast at the lobby (8.30am-10am; noodles with tomato-based soup and minced meat; will need to arrange this with the housekeeper the night prior), communal washing machine (free of charge, inclusive of laundry liquid detergent; there is a small overhead rack to hang and dry the clothes after washing)
Luggage storage: Complimentary and safe luggage storage in the hotel (e.g. if you are planning to hike and stay at Tiger Leaping Gorge for a night)
Lijiang airport/station transfer: Free transfer arranged by the hotel for stays of at least three nights. Will need to arrange this with the hotel owner 1 day prior

Exceptional views from our room which is also spacious and clean. Modern aesthetic in an old town. Roughly 10 mins walk to Lijiang old town. Might not be convenient for young children or elderly because they are quite a bit of stairs leading to the accomodation unless you take a cab and enter by another side.
That aside, 10/10 will recommend this place because the boss and 管家 provided one of the best services I have ever received. They were really helpful in getting our tickets for JDSM, and ensuring we got to places safely by contacting our next accomodation. They also checked in on us to see if we were safe.

We had an amazing experience here - the view is unrivaled and so so beautiful. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with smart features (automatic toilet bowl, heater in the shower and main area) and super clean. The couple that owns this homestay is so friendly and helpful and accommodating. The location is just a short uphill walk from the old town, and convenient for both taxi drop-off and walking into the old town to explore. Would highly recommend this hotel for an amazing experience, and honestly the view is just as good as the photos show (if not better)

When I open the window, a nice breeze comes in and it's really nice. When I open the window after it rains and clears up, I can see a rainbow.
