We stayed for two days on our Lightning Ridge visit. We chose the b and b as we figured it would be a quieter option and it was. It’s not the most modern, but it’s comfortable, clean and has everything we needed. The bathroom is small but fine for a couple of nights. The kitchen had everything you could need, we didn’t cook but could have used the outdoor kitchen/bbq if we had wanted. Breakfast at the property was great. Recommend staying here if you want a small, quiet stay after days of exploring.

Quaint, quirky and quiet The Sunset Suite in Sonja's B&B made a refreshing change from our usual motel stays. The unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped for our needs, even if the en suite was a little 'bijou'. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1 as no-one told us that most of Lightning Ridge's attractions, shops and restaurants close down 'for the season'. This is no reflection on Sonja's as we would have been very happy to stay there.

My first morning there property staff greeted me by asking where I was from and immediately attempting to engage me in a discussion about politics. I’m on holiday, not interested. My room was switched before I got there but that room was locked. The room available to me had all the windows opened with the AC running when I arrived so it was very hot. After closing the windows, the AC couldn’t keep the space cool. The shower is tiny. The amenities are all dated.

Excellent Excellent ,really excellent, it was very hot in lightning ridge 42c when we arrived but the air conditioning in the room was fabulous. Very quiet and peaceful location, all the local amenities within easy reach
