Hotel Engel Liestal - Business & Lifestyle

The Hotel Engel was quite charming. We had some personal business in LIestal and the Hotel staff was absolutely amazing. Our rooms were quiet and spacious. In lieu of air conditioners, fans were provided in each room. It was rather chilly overnight so the fans were sufficient enough to cool the rooms. The staff was lovely. There was a kind gentleman at the front desk who assisted us with all of our needs. He made certain our rooms were ready for an early check in and recommended restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! Ample choices were given and a variety of fresh fruit and cereals were offered. The baked goods were delicious. A selection of homemade jams were offered and they were all scrumptious. All in all, the Hotel Engel was a wonderful choice for our stay in Liestal.

Very nice and comfortable hotel, with all modern appliances. The hotel is conveniently located (near a supermarket, walking distance from Liestal downtown and 15-20 min from Basel - by car or train). Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast is about 20 Swiss francs - very copious and diverse choices.

We spent 5 nights at the Hotel Engel and were tremendously impressed. The hotel is steps away from the heart of the City and outdoor cafes where you can watch the world walk by. The rooms at the hotel are quite comfortable. Best of all is the service. Beatreaz at the front desk is outstanding. Very friendly and goes the extra step for you. The only downside to the hotel is if you're a light sleeper, you may hear the bells from the City. It's likely you'll hear them from any hotel near city center.
