Esperia Palace Hotel

We stayed in this property with my family in August. The sore points of this holiday concern: RUINLED rooms that were falling to pieces with particular focus on the bathroom with shower that was never cleaned, toilet with a strong smell of pee, door ruined by humidity, hand shower broken shower (we asked to replace it but nothing), forgettable parking view, balcony without a minimum of privacy. The cleanliness of both the rooms and the common areas needs to be reviewed. Let's move on to the structure which appears to be OLD AND OBSOLETE in the common areas and not very clean, the swimming pool is beautiful, it's a shame for people who don't respect the rules, for example the swimming cap is mandatory but not everyone wears it and no one checks. A nod also to the rudeness of the people who, in the swimming pool as well as at the seaside, threw everything on the ground from cigarette butts to endless plastic cups TERRIBLE WASTE OF PLASTIC!!!! And much more. Despite the smoking ban, I spent my holiday breathing other people's smoke in 2023, I find it unacceptable. We move on to the beach where the services are NON-EXISTENT, no beach bar, no shower to rinse off, no toilet, we were close to each other with rude people. Restaurant with REPETITIVE LOW QUALITY food but above all I am intolerant to lactode and garlic. I WAS REALLY HUNGRY, no alternative for lunch and dinner for me unfortunately in the dishes there was either reported lactose or garlic. NEVER SEEN The Metre to ask for info you had to serve yourself but above all in the midst of people who didn't use gloves!! furthermore, we ate in a single restaurant in the structure which was completely indoors with dirty glass, sealed closed windows and SO MUCH CONFUSION, the meals had become a NIGHTMARE 😱 Another sore point was the RECEPTION which was very BRILLIANT, unkind and incompetent. All inclusive is a joke, those who have had the opportunity to visit other structures cannot consider this structure to be an all inclusive but above all it should be downgraded to 3 STARS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A 4 STAR!! The only positive note was THE ENTERTAINMENT which made us somewhat accept the STRONG DEFICIENCY IN SERVICES. Nice guys who wanted to do things that were very creative and not predictable. WELL GOOD ALL VINCENZO CAPO VILLAGGIO TOP. I FORGOTTEN THE SMELL OF SEWER ACCOMPANIED US THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE HOLIDAY.

We are in our third consecutive year at this fantastic facility. I confirm the excellent and varied cuisine, the attentive service in the dining room and at the bars, the impeccable cleanliness with daily change of towels, the courtesy at reception, the sea as clean as always and with access just a few meters from the hotel. Compared to previous years, this year the Much More animation led by Vincenzo D Andretta made a difference, a legend in terms of prank calls (trust me, it's all improvised!). Lorenzo and Simone, leaders of the village and the Monster club respectively, will remain in our hearts, but also the kindness of Maria, Consuelo, Rossella, Martina, Loris and Gianmarco who always entertained children and teenagers with a smile. I must make a special mention to Michela, a cheerful girl with an exceptional voice and to Aunt Cristina for her friendliness and liveliness. If you wanted to move and tone up, Francesca was always ready and available, but if you wanted to play, Enrico would organize a tournament for you. Applause goes to Sharon and her choreography (the Wild show was nothing short of exceptional). Finally I want to thank Giovanni, a good boy from Palermo, almost a sound engineer who made all this possible. L Esperia is our point of reference for holidays in Salento and this is made possible by the always present and attentive director. However, I have to make a negative note about the children's play area and the green volleyball court: these areas are really dangerous and in some ways unusable... they should be tidied up. I arrived yesterday with my family and despite myself we will have to stay for another 2 weeks. The structure is old and poorly maintained. Be careful with the photos you find online, because they are misleading. Generally speaking this property should barely be classified as a 3 star. My room is a comfort one, with 4 beds: the 2 additional beds (single beds) are positioned in what they define as an alcove and which is nothing more than the closure of what was probably originally a terrace, moreover poorly insulated because it is hot and cannot be reached from the only air conditioning vent which is on the opposite side of the room. The walls are full of leaks (see photo) with pieces of plaster coming off the walls. The shower is unspeakable, I wonder if it has ever been cleaned. The bathroom door is hinged, and opens 180 degrees directly into the shower, so much so that the wood is rotten and there is a huge hole where it meets the wall hanger for the towel. The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear whatever happens in the corridor or in the other rooms. The view should be on the playing fields, please see the photos. We are in a car park. The balconies are literally one inside the other. Let's talk about the all inclusive: everything on tap SERVED IN ENDLESS PLASTIC GLASSES that are abandoned everywhere, especially in the pool where there is perpetually disgusting. Ah, and only water, tea and schweppes, coffee and beer. End. This is all inclusive. In a single bar which is inside the structure, because the one by the swimming pool is in the water and if you don't want to get wet it's your problem. It is a family hotel, although not indicated. There are hundreds of small children and a lot of confusion everywhere, especially in the restaurant. Users should be enabled to make conscious choices. THE SEA: this topic deserves attention. The beach is hell. It's long but narrow and the sunbeds have no living space, it's unforgettable. They will have placed at least 6/7 rows of sunbeds in a space that would only be enough for 3. In addition to the fact that there are not enough seats for all customers. I had to pay an extra 140 euros to have a seat in the 3rd row (which then turned into the second) for not being able to stay more than half an hour in that uncomfortable situation. The sea sucks. This cannot be called a beautiful sea, anyone who does has never seen one. The water is cloudy, it is invaded by hundreds of people who are clearly overbooked. Dirt everywhere. It is a 5-star disappointment, bordering on fraud because the images, photos and videos are totally misleading and do not correspond to the truth.

Really beautiful structure, not to mention the very well kept and characteristic swimming pool. Friendly and courteous staff from reception to restaurant. Top cleanliness of rooms and spaces. Crystal clear sea reachable on foot in a very short time. Excellent cuisine and food, high standards, variety of food and above all space flavours. Particular praise goes to the Muchmore entertainment staff, kind, non-intrusive guys, always with a smile and with whom a bond of friendship was immediately established. Lorenzo with his inexplicable and very nice energy, Francesca and Sharon full of energy with their fitness activities and their shows, Michela with her enchanting and dreamy voice, Maria with a unique sweetness with the children and above all with my daughter who is always wary, Cristina who is friendly and smart, Enrico respectful and polite, Simone a great man with children, Consuelo very tender, and all the other kids not to be underestimated. Then the village chief Vincenzo who entertained us too much with his comedy, his prank calls, a great professional. We really hope to meet you all again because it was truly a pleasure. We carry you in our hearts ❤️ thank you for making our holiday unforgettable.

The structure is wonderful, a fantastic swimming pool, the very comfortable rooms (in our case an accommodation with two bedrooms, bathroom and outdoor space furnished with a table, chairs and even a clothesline...a non-negligible detail) excellent food, an infinite choice of every good thing. Impeccable cleanliness. The polite and attentive staff. Very active but never intrusive entertainment. In short...impossible to find a flaw. Special thanks go to Toni, the pool bartender, a guy with unique friendliness, and to the director of the facility, an exquisite, very kind person with impeccable professionalism. We will be back, that's for sure!!! Thank you all.

I've been here for a week and I'm writing from my room waiting to go to breakfast. I hope that today the sky is not a gray cloud like all the other days but I doubt that the mosquitoes will go elsewhere and stop feasting on me. The complex is beautiful, the rooms are clean, the food is varied but the experience is not the best because what is promised in the brochures is not kept. Let me explain better: I had to insist for two days to have the daytime entertainment included in the package, which, according to the managers, was excluded "since we had a reduced rate". Umbrellas and deckchairs were distributed on the beach without taking into account the "single" rooms which had to be guaranteed "one umbrella and two deckchairs regardless of the number of occupants". And indeed there are still two ladies who move where they find a free deckchair while the seats are fixed and decided by a certain Patrizia who I don't understand if she is a hotel employee or the Input assistant who is supposed to defend the interests of the customers. The sea is about 8 minutes walk from the hotel but the train that passes is that of the nearby village which we cannot get on. I miss the Tiblu in Pisticci where a little train went back and forth in a beautiful pine forest and waited for all the guests when tired and hungry they wanted to return and where plenty of prosecco awaited them. Here there is a two-seater car that upon reservation takes you to the beach at 9 am and collects you at 12. Those who are here today were also in Pisticci last year where they had coffee and cappuccino and are not resigned to having to pay for them and they show the brochure received from the agency where coffee would be included (I don't drink coffee!). Apart from these details (which ruin someone's holiday) I am very happy with an emerald green and sapphire blue sea where it is deep, with fine sand. The food is popular with almost all guests and is varied and the trays are always full even towards the end. Apart from a slightly rude attendant, all the staff in the dining room are kind and attentive and the maitre d' is also a nice guy, which is pleasing to the eye during lunch. So apart from some adjustments, which I hope they'll make over the next week, I'm happy with it and I can diet with the dozens of vegetables ready every day. One thing I didn't understand: why at the cost of €1 per day they don't have newspapers delivered upon customer reservations from the town newsagent.
