On a business trip, I spontaneously looked for a hotel in the Bad Staffelstein area. I didn't really like anything, with one exception: the Krone in Lichtenfels. I liked that there was a sauna and a pizzeria/restaurant and relatively nice rooms. So I checked in there, in a (better) comfort room at a reasonable price including breakfast (84 euros). There were also cheaper rooms (standard rooms), but these were probably not renovated? The mattresses were very good, that's very important to me, in many other hotels they are really bad. The sauna was great. A dry sauna, a sanarium, everything new and chic, a nice relaxation room, also with infrared radiation. I was delighted. The restaurant was very busy, the ladies were very stressed, but managed everything very well. The food was also delicious, I had a seafood pizza with a side salad. And 2 light beers. All at a relatively reasonable price these days. I also gave a big tip for this good service. The breakfast was also very good, a large selection, nothing was missing... the friendly lady was happy to make a cappuccino for me when I requested it. All in all, I liked it very much. Maybe not the location, because the building is in an industrial area. But that didn't bother me, the advantage was that there were lots of free parking spaces and it was very quiet at night. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, there was a great atmosphere. And everything was very clean. I would gladly come back.
