La Maison Mulato

Maison Mulato is an exquisite guesthouse offering the perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. The centuries old mansion has been lovingly restored and renovated in an eclectic style marrying classical, modern and international influences. The proprietors, Corrine and Laurent, are gracious and friendly and provided useful tips before and during our stay so we got the most out of our days in the region and avoided pitfalls (like traffic jams). Maison Mulato was the calm oasis to which we could return after days of sightseeing and wine tasting.

Our stay at La Maison Mulato was a wonderful experience. The owners, Corina and Laurent, were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. The interesting interior is decorated with excellent taste. Outdoors was beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful place to enjoy the outstanding breakfast we were offered (our only regret is that we forgot about breakfast on our first morning). We would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting the area!

Our group of 8 (four couples) stayed in La Maison for 3 nights in July to celebrate a 60th birthday among the group. Firstly the setting - the house and grounds are just amazing, traditional in its layout and materials with exceptional quality and style of furnishings (you can tell Corinne is an interior designer!). The breakfast was fantastic, homemade by the hosts with lots of savoury and sweet French delicacies which filled us up for most of the day. However what made the birthday trip special was the pre-planning and communication with the host Laurent prior to our arrival - he helped with recommending restaurants, vineyards, spa and masseuse booking and every single aspect of our trip. All of this detail and responsiveness made our break in Libourne special in every way possible! I would say La Maison Mulato is a great base to explore the beautiful area or it can be tailored with the hosts to make a very special trip as we did. My sincere thanks to the super-friendly and accommodating hosts Laurent, Corinne and Laura for helping make us long lasting memories of our birthday trip to Bordeaux…

Perfect stay! Such a wonderful stay! So personal, clean, beautifully decorated! The property is so peacedul. Our host and hostess were wonderful and served up the best breakfasts we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy!!!

Corine and Laurent’s attention to detail, care and impeccable design skills are shown in every aspect of the maison, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. But what really made our stay unforgettable was the personal touch they both added to everything. From the conversation over the delicious breakfast to the helpful recommendations, they both made us feel like we were more than just guests. It's clear that they have a passion for hospitality and creating meaningful connections with their visitors, and we feel fortunate to have experienced it firsthand. We couldn’t be happier to have found this beautiful place, but more so of leaving with two new friends. Thank you for opening your doors to us and for making our stay so special. Corinne and Laurent were fabulous hosts in their amazing home. Breakfast was the best meal of any day with home cooked delicious dishes. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the pools for relaxing. The house is grand and quirky and very comfortable. The ceilings are high and the rooms are large and airy. There is air con but mostly we didn’t need to use it despite the heat.
