"The experience of staying in this hotel is amazing! As soon as I entered the door, the front desk staff was enthusiastic and professional, the check-in procedure was quick, and they also introduced the surrounding fun places. The room was clean and tidy, the layout was very warm, the bedding was comfortable, and I had a super good sleep. The location is also great, there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and it is convenient to travel. I will choose this place next time I travel!"

"The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful."
"The service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge.
On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress.
On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well."
"I saw this place online for a holiday trip and decided to check in. It didn't disappoint me. First of all, I really like the environment here. It's clean and sanitary. It's equipped with disposable towels and bath towels, which is very considerate. Secondly, the service is also very good. Free laundry, oxygen supply and humidification are turned on in advance (the most comfortable hotel I stayed in Tibet, the oxygen diffusion is in place, and the humidification is also in place). In short, I am very satisfied. I like the decoration style of this store very much. If you like Chinese and simple styles, you can go for it. Handmade ******* souvenirs: very heartwarming"
"We stayed in 2 rooms in the hotel for one night. The price in the off-season is still very cost-effective. Gesang Badan at the front desk arranged the room for us and checked us in professionally and politely. It was indeed cold when we came down from the room to have breakfast in the morning and passed by the lobby. This design is not very reasonable."
"Upon entering the hotel, staff immediately offered us Rhodiola tea, which is said to help alleviate altitude sickness. The hotel breakfast was exceptionally plentiful, featuring *******, Chinese, and Western options. There's also a cafe on the first floor that offers a wide variety of meals. A self-service laundry room is conveniently located on the 4th floor, equipped with detergent, hangers, and dryers – a real plus for travelers. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service, providing free drop-offs to city attractions such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, and Norbulingka. Additionally, they offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services for the train station and the airport bus station. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, attending to virtually all our requests. We are very grateful to everyone who assisted us during our stay. We would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Lhasa!"
"The facilities are excellent and well-equipped. They provide a 24-hour diffuse oxygen supply service, complete with nasal cannulas, which is incredibly helpful and often essential in a high-altitude location like Tibet. Complimentary Rhodiola rosea hot drink is available around the clock – I literally drank it like water! 😄 The cleanliness was spotless, and the environment was comfortable and inviting. Service was exceptional and very attentive. Breakfast was fantastic, offering delicious options such as rice noodles, eggs, and a variety of beverages. The location is also incredibly convenient, being very close to Jokhang Temple, and Potala Palace is just a short taxi ride away."
"This hotel is located right next to the entrance of Barkhor Street and Jokhang Temple, close to shopping and transportation to other places in Lhasa, so the location is perfect.
The service is the most impressive, my hotel room was facing the street and there was a loud speaker shouting all day and all night, I had to complaint to the hotel staff even though the speaker was not part of the hotel. They immediately negotiated with the the relevant people, and offered to switch my room to face away from the street. Also the hotel staff helped me to reserve the critical sites and train. I cannnot be more thankful for their help.
The room was big and they cleaned every day, they did a good job cleaning the room.
The onsite laundry facility was helpful too since I cannot affort to pay for laundry service.
All in all, I am very happy with the stay, and will return again if I come back to Lhasa."

Excellent
AAmber.cwThe hotel can accommodate Hong Kong and Macau compatriots! The ******* architecture is the same as in the photo, the hygiene is very good, the experience is full, the bathroom is large enough to separate dry and wet areas, the water pressure is sufficient, the overall environment is very satisfactory, the only thing is that the room lighting is a little dim, and the Indian restaurant in the basement is also authentic. I also thank the staff for their warm hospitality during this experience.

HhohotimVery satisfied with everything, the best is the customer service, always answer all questions.
Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen.
There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning.
Everything was cured by the warm customer service.

GGuest UserFree pick-up service from railway station or civil aviation bus station: will arrive at the station in advance and wait to receive the hotel
Facilities: complete and complete
Hygienic: clean and tidy
Environment: The environment has nothing to say. The room can see the panoramic view of the city and the night view of the Potala Palace. The aisle can see the mountain view.
Service: The service is very good. The young ladies at the front desk are very beautiful. They will also help write Tibetan.
GGuest UserThis hotel is a little gem in Lhasa. First of all, it’s got a lift, which is a must at high altitude. They offered us free breakfast for the first night, but when we requested breakfast for the next two nights (paying), they actually offered it for free as well. The breakfast room has amazing views of the Potala palace.
The beds are very comfortable. There is a large coffee table, a large leather stool and an armchair by the window. And that window has another stunning view over the palace (if you’re on the 5th floor). The bathroom has everything you need, including shower flip flops (although we brought and used our own pair). Toiletries were good too. There were also slippers for the room.
Another nice touch was that they would bring a fruit platter to the room every evening at 19:00. This included jujube, cherry tomatoes, clementines and pears. All brilliantly sweet.
The hotel is very close to the big attractions in Lhasa, including the aforementioned Potala palace, Jokhang monastery and Barkor Street.
And most importantly, they had oxygen in the bedroom. A must have!
Finally, the staff is very helpful. They helped us book a takeaway for dinner on our first night and organised the free breakfasts the next day.

GGuest UserThe hotel has ******* characteristics. Afternoon tea and small gifts are provided upon check-in. The service is also very good. The waiters AD and BW are very enthusiastic. Luggage is delivered to the room and oxygen tanks are provided for free. The breakfast is rich and of high quality, no different from Shangri-La hotels in first- and second-tier cities. It is basically dark here at 9 o'clock. It would be better if dinner could be delayed to 22:30. I will stay here again next time I come to Lhasa.
XXiaoyuebanjianghuI rarely write reviews, but I feel I must write one this time. Gesanghua Hotel has a beautiful and kind proprietress. She is quite young, thoughtful, warm and patient. We just arrived in Lhasa and were not very familiar with the itinerary. Later, we consulted the proprietress to avoid falling into the trap. You can also ask the proprietress to help buy performance tickets and travel packages. There are many discounts after comparison. I am also very satisfied with the arranged room. It is square, clean, with a humidifier, oxygen concentrator, and air conditioner. Every morning, the bright sunshine will shine into the room, making the cool morning warm all of a sudden. Living in a sunny room makes my altitude sickness much better.
The location of the hotel is also very good👍 It is convenient to go out for transportation. It takes a few minutes to walk to Jokhang City, Barkhor Street, and Jokhang Temple. It only takes 10 yuan to take Didi to the Potala Palace.
Warm service, clean room, convenient transportation, we will definitely stay in Gesanghua again next time.

GGuest UserVery clean and comfortable small yard, lying on the second floor single bed in the afternoon watching the blue sky and white clouds take a nap, go out to eat something in the evening, go back to the inn to find a few friends from all over the world to chat, quiet and drink some wine, come out is nothing more than empty for a while, Go back to real life and work hard.

DdadongThe hotel's location is excellent for travelers, right in the heart of the pedestrian street and the vibrant nightlife area. However, taxis cannot drop you off directly at the entrance; they have to stop on the main road, requiring a short walk. If this is an issue for you, you might want to consider elsewhere.
The service was quite thoughtful overall. On the first night, they offered complimentary snacks, fruit, and even 'goodnight milk'. However, these amenities weren't prepared in my room when I first checked in; I had to specifically request them. I assume they simply forgot.
The facilities are what you'd expect from an older four-star hotel, and hygiene was decent. However, on the first night, the lights in my room kept turning on automatically multiple times, which led to a sleepless night. The engineering team fixed it the next day, but no compensation was offered, just a simple apology.
When you're on vacation, you want to enjoy yourself, so I didn't push the issue. I just hope they can further improve their service quality. Overall, I'd still recommend it.

GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel.
The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage.
The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app.
There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
