Just been for The Black Swan burger two for £22 on a Monday evening! It was delicious, huge meaty burger, bacon, cheese salad absolutely amazing! Best burger I’ve had in a long time, in a nice chilled out friendly pub! We will definitely return next time we are in the area! Thank you ladies for a excellent meal

Arrived with friends for lunch at 12 o'clock and was told 30 minutes wait before taking food order so we sat and had a drink and a chat then went back to the bar to order food at 12.30 to be told another 30 to 40 minutes wait as kitchen being re furbished so we drank up left, appalling service and if the kitchen was being re furbished surely it should be CLOSED !!!!!!

I never give a negative review but on this occasion I feel I have to, we stayed here last year and the room was lovely so we decided on a return visit….. and it will be the last! The room we were given ( room 5 ) was shocking, painted battleship grey, plaster peeling off the wall, the bathroom was grim and no wardrobe or clothes rail!!! Where do they expect you to hang your clothes???? We asked for a different room and we were moved to room 3 , first impressions were good, but…. Stained curtains, the back of the bath/shower pole was disgusting, totally needs some tlc !!! Breakfast the following morning was decent apart from the broken teapot , and lack of butter for toast, some poor guy had to go and find some himself and was walking back and forth with a knife-full of butter for his toast! The service that we received was mediocre, you look forward to spending a few nights away from home, especially under the current financial climate are few and far between! Totally disappointed!!

Excellent pub food. Ate here twice in one week. Had the beef baguettes on first occasion & fish/scampi & chips on second. Would return. Would suggest some new smarter menus, but overall, great! Tables bookable both lunch times and evenings.

Visited with my friend on a bank holiday Monday. Despite being fairly full, they fortunately had a table left. The food is delicious and would definitely recommend. The portions are Yorkshire size, but not too much to eat. Nice presentation and reasonable prices for today's living costs. Definitely will be visiting again soon. 😊

Excellent food and service. Great range of beers and ciders. We would recommend the Hopical Storm and the Mango cider. The Wensleydale mushrooms were delicious too.

My girlfriend and I were staying here for one night, but as we only live 35 minutes away we decided just to leave rather than sleep here. The walls are paper thin, every single floorboard creaks, and being on the first floor with another above you hear ever single small movement from above. And to top it all off, there was a lovely inviting patch of dampness on the ceiling. We ate food in the pub while we pondered staying or going home, which is ridiculously over priced for what it is, but not as overpriced as the drinks. A pint of coke was £3.95 and a bottle of Kopparberg was £9.60 which went flat as soon as it was opened! So 2 pulled pork burgers, a pint of coke and the bottle came to an eye watering £41.55. When we were leaving and giving our keys into the landlady she seemed to be shocked that we weren’t happy and was quite rude to us despite us saying we didn’t want a refund or anything, we just weren’t happy and would rather be home than there.
