This wonderful, comfortable is located in peaceful surroundings with, depending on the time of year, immediate access to hiking trails and/ or cross country skiing. It is a family run hotel. The fantastic chef is also the owner. He is clearly passionate about his business, and ensuring that every guest receives great service and leaves feeling better than when they arrived. Indeed, everybody member of the team takes personal responsibility for ensuring an enjoyable stay. From the moment I stepped through the door, to the time I said goodbye to the hotel shuttle driver this morning, every person I met was friendly, helpful and professional. The dinner, every night, was a real triumph. There was always a choice for meat eaters, fish enthusiasts and vegetarians. Using great ingredients in very inventive ways, they always managed to produce something new and exciting. Breakfast was also great. A rich buffet of every imaginable item, complemented by freshly cooked eggs. You can also get lunch/ afternoon tea. Service was great by everyone. I would particularly commend Robert who served me most frequently, and managed not to laugh at my clumsy, slow German. However, everybody was top class. The Wellness areas are fantastic. Clean, modern and easy to use. It was particularly nice that, the day I arrived after a long journey from Scotland, one of them had late opening until 10.00 pm. I especially enjoyed my early morning swims under the red skies with a breathtaking Mountain View, the variety of saunas available and the ability to take a break with a cup of herbal tea. The hotel, itself, is in a brilliant place with wonderful hikes of every standard on the doorstep. The free public transport offering hugely expands what is available and allows for linear hikes too. They even lend you backpacks and trekking poles. I also enjoyed a very good quality of sleep. The firm mattress was just right and the quiet, peaceful nature of the surroundings helped too.
