The rooms are small and warmly decorated, making it a rather sophisticated British-style family hotel. The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic. She introduced the origin of the hotel and showed her around the restaurant. Although the facilities were relatively old-school, with keys to lock the doors and no central control of the lights, they were just right. The location is very good. We haven't even arrived in Inverness yet. We are on the lakeside and the restaurant can see the lake outside. Reservations are accepted for dinner, and there is also pre-dinner drink time. It is a typical British dinner, the chef is also very good, and the breakfast is also good. Although the price is on the high side, it's worth it.

Arriving from a long drive following an overnight flight that morning from Canada, we were a weary group but received a warm welcome. Drinks by the fire, a delicious dinner, a sound sleep followed by a nice breakfast, this was the perfect start to our journey to Skye and then up the N500. We had done the N500 before but our friends had not. It has changed in the few years since with increased volume which our host at the Lodge warned us about. It didn’t prepare us for two incidents of total impasse on the road, backed up cars and fraying tempers. Our host did recommend it best to wait until the off season if doing it again. He was right. Be forewarned.

This inn is a very lovely and comfortable former hunting lodge. Our dinner meal was the best in Scotland, served in a beautiful room with a view, prepared and served by the chef/owner. Staff were exceptional. We sat outside into the evening and watched the stars come out over Loch Lochy.

We had stayed at this lovely hotel some years ago, and had very happy memories of our time there. We were delighted to see the same family still run the hotel. Ian the chef prepared some of the best food I have ever had, and the dessert was amazing. If you want true Scottish hospitality, which is welcoming but unobtrusive you should stay here, We only had one night but I would have loved to stay longer.

Great location with a well appointed clean, warm room and excellent ensuite. The generous breakfasts and gourmet dinners were delicious. The quiet, unobtrusive service was most welcome. We were interested to note that over the 2 days we stayed, we appeared to be the only British guests with all of the others coming from a variety of European countries.

My husband, daughter and I stayed one night in a family room and wished we had planned to stay longer. The room was so warm and comfortable and the food was amazing. The grounds were equally lovely, with a setting overlooking the lake. Dinner was one of the very best of our trip. Excellent experice in every way.

Sadly, despite a wonderful location and a couple of delicious breakfasts, we are giving our first poor review - ever!. Our welcome at the Corriegour left us looking forward to our departure. On a 2 week car tour through Scotland, we had with us a bag of snacks and a small take away box with our leftover quesadilla from lunch. We had hoped to enjoy it that evening - especially as one in our group requires food with night time medication. We felt we were committing a crime in bringing this in, even though every other lodge/hotel had no problem with this. We consider ourselves very respectful of the places we stay and were both surprised and offended by the punitive response we were given. A warmer welcome would have made up for the tired bedding, carpet and furniture.

The Lodge is simply fantastic. The family that runs it makes you feel at home instantly and keeps it up throughout the stay. The Chef, Ian, is spectacular, great food, presentation and explanation. The lodge was the highlight of our Scottish trip. Sitting by the fire with a hand made cocktail was like being taken back in time. The lodge itself, with decorations and antiques is fantastic, but the family makes it a special place.
