We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, making us feel right at home. The hotel itself was perfect — beautifully maintained, very comfortable, and exceeded all our expectations. The breakfasts and meals we had during our stay were exceptional, with high-quality ingredients and excellent service that made each dining experience a pleasure. It was a major highlight of our trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in France again. Highly recommended!

Spent 2 nights at the L’Abbaye de Villeneuve on our way down from Normandy to Bordeaux and had a very nice time. The hotel is located about a 20 minute ride from the city of Nantes. The château is quite large and truly beautiful. It gives you the impression you are staying in a 14 century castle. The Junior suite we stayed in was large, clean, and very nicely decorated. The public spaces such as the bar, restaurant and sitting areas were cozy and inviting. The service was absolutely wonderful and everyone always making sure we were having a good time. We had dinner one night in one of their restaurants and the food and service was excellent. A definite recommendation if staying in the area.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all members of staff for their excellent and welcoming service, for the enjoyable days spent at Abbaye de Villeneuve, and for their consistent readiness to assist at any time. Their conduct was characterised by cordiality and kindness. I would like to make a special mention to Alizée and Léo, two people with significant potential. We have interacted with them a great deal recently, and I would like to acknowledge their constant attention to detail and professionalism. The Abbaye is a wonderful piece of French history, set in an idyllic location just minutes from Nantes. The rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere is quiet and friendly, and the cleanliness is excellent. We will return.

The restaurant is delightful, particularly the duck. Staff were universally kind, friendly, and helpful. The only thing we could have wished for was an elevator to the third floor, but a climb is to be expected in a historic abbey. Rooms have modern amentiies and are very comfortable. Will stay again.

We found this hotel last minute, and what a lucky coincidence that was! The place was completely renovated two years ago, and it feels like it, too. Very comfy beds, great pool, very good bistro restaurant (we only had time to test one restaurant, but there is also a gourmet option), friendly and forthcoming staff… what more can I say. Oh yes, pretty close to Nantes and to the airport (both ca. 15 min by car), but in a very calm and relaxing setting. I am writing this in may way back home from the airport in Switzerland and the possibility to stay at this beautiful hotel before heading to the airport allowed us enjoy our vacation until the last minute…

A beautiful bedroom, and very comfortable. All the public rooms were delightful. The service was impeccable. We had an excellent meal in The Brewery. We would happily return to L' Abbaye de Villeneuve, and will recommend to others. Thank you very much.

We had a lovely one night stay at L’Abbaye, as a stop on the way to Bordeaux. We would happily have stayed longer. Very warm and welcoming staff, fabulous clean, bright and opulent bar and lobby. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the Brasserie, with tuna ceviche, crevettes, tartare and entrecôte all perfect. We booked one of the smaller rooms, it was still a very good size and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was again great quality and good value - €15 for the Formule. All in all fantastic value and we plan to come back and spend a couple more nights.

The hotel is just as we imagined from the website - beautiful building and grounds, nice pool, attractive bedroom (though the bathroom could do with more hooks to hang towels and robes and the pillows were hard rubber). The cocktails were perfect and the food in the gourmet restaurant was outstanding. The staff were all attentive and very helpful with ideas of things to do in Nantes and where to park.
