Leishan Miaowang Farmstay

This is a traditional Miao Zhai-style inn. The room I stayed in was in the wooden part on the third floor, and I was able to enjoy a wonderful atmosphere. The Miao family who own the inn are very kind. The owner lives next to the inn, so if I had any problems (the hot water problem described below), he was available even at night. Also, on the second night, when I returned from Leishan by bus and walked to the inn on the night road, the owner, who was returning from fishing, noticed me and kindly picked me up in his car. The inn is about 2.4 kilometers away from the bus stop on the main road, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk there. I don't speak Chinese, and the international roaming call charges from Japan are expensive, so I don't think I would have been able to ask him even if I knew, but usually, inn users contact the owner to pick them up. On the way back, I was also driven to the bus stop by car. Finally, there are two points to note. As of March 2025, the location of the inn on the map on Trip.com is slightly off. The exact location of the inn is about 200 meters northwest from the pin location. (The pin location is an unrelated private house on the opposite bank of the river (left bank). I went there by mistake and knocked on the door...) The inn is on the right bank, so you don't have to cross the bridge from the main road where cars pass. After passing through a flat road and climbing a slope, you will see a small path on the right side of the road that leads down to the inn. Entering this path, the destination is the building a few houses away. There are no lights on the surrounding roads, so a flashlight is essential for entering and exiting at night. (The location of the attached photo of the road is where you enter the small path (right side)) (I've also uploaded a long shot photo. It is the building on the far right in the photo) (When I looked it up on my PC after returning home, both "Gaode Map" and "Baidu Map" showed the exact location. "Gaode Map" shows the river, so it is easier to understand) Another issue is the temperature adjustment of the shower in the room. When you turn the lever all the way to the hot water side and start using it, very hot water comes out, but on the first day, the hot water got into the cold water pipe, and even when I turned it to the cold water side, only hot water came out. (In the end, I gave up on the shower, and it didn't turn back to cold water until I got out of the bath and finished changing clothes...) On the second day, I was able to use it at the right temperature by gradually turning the lever from the cold side to the hot water side, but the shower came out at the right temperature when the lever was closer to the cold water side than the middle. It takes a while for the water to get warm, so try not to turn it too much to the hot water side in a hurry. (I also took a picture of the lever position of the shower that was just the right temperature, so I'll share it.) The accommodation and the owner are really wonderful, so if you understand the above points in advance and avoid unnecessary trouble, I think you'll have a great stay.

The boss's sister is very nice. The boss's family is very friendly and I recommend staying here. The hotel is very good and the service in all aspects is thoughtful and considerate. It is suitable for staying here.

The environment is good, clean and sanitary, the boss is nice, the food is delicious, and the ingredients are all green and pollution-free, just dug from the soil! Warm and thoughtful! I will stay here again next time

The lady boss was very kind and cooked me very light but delicious noodles, added a lot of vegetables, and provided free pick-up at the visitor center. There was also a very enthusiastic and lively child. It was a great experience.

If you want to experience the farm life of the native Miaowang family, it is a good choice. Wooden house, living on the third floor, children can swim in the river and have fun. It's a little far away from the village and relatively quiet. The food cooked by the landlady is also very good.

The scenic spot goes up two to three hundred meters. It is recommended to drive in after 5:30 pm, otherwise it will be too dark to walk at night. The proprietress is taking care of it all day long, but the men in her family don't seem to be involved. The children took us to play in the creek, which was much more fun than the downstream scenic area. Although the room is small, it is well-equipped and suitable for experiencing the Miao ethnic group.
