My stay was very pleasant. Lilja knows how to welcome you warmly and is very attentive to her guests. The rooms are completely quiet. The small neighborhood is very peaceful. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, allowing for exchanges with other vacationers and the owner. A few free parking spaces in front of the house are easily available. Nothing important.

____________________ THE GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION ---------- Ideal location and central enough to allow you to visit the island of Esturoy (Funningur, Gjogv, Eidi...), Bordoy (Klaksvik) or even Kalsoy (Kallur Lighthouse, James Bond Tomb), so everything is accessible by car from the property. In a residential area so not much in the immediate vicinity, you have to travel by car to find a restaurant or supermarket for example. ____________________ THE HOTEL AND THE WELCOME ---------- VisitHOMES is a bit like Gites de France, stays in private homes like guest rooms. Very warm welcome from the owner, warm and simple. Note that they have rooms in the house itself, and a cottage in a separate small house, depending on the service desired. The owners speak English. In any case, very beautiful typical island house with beautiful rooms, exposed beam, nicely decorated with new and old. ____________________ THE ROOM ---------- Room on the 1st floor of the house, very clean! Relatively small but sufficient, not much with a wardrobe, a comfortable bed and a bedside table, sink depending on the room and that's it. But there is a common area on the 1st with TV. The bathroom is on the ground floor which is also shared with the owners. Large bathroom with bathtub and shower. If the room is spotless and super clean, the bathroom is more neglected with infrequent cleaning, so there is dust/dirt on the sink cabinet. However, wipes are available to wipe down the sink and/or toilets. ____________________ RESTAURANT ---------- A breakfast service is included, top notch. Sweet/savoury prepared by your host. There is always a base with bread, spreads, homemade butter, homemade jam. Then a homemade preparation changing every day and especially local products like fish paste from the village, in short a few little things to discover every morning. No table d'hôtes in the evening. ____________________ VALUE FOR PRICE AND SERVICES ---------- With attention to the bathroom this is undoubtedly very good value for money. The wifi works very well. On the parking side it’s tricky. There is no private parking, you have to park on the street for free. Ask the owner clearly for the authorized spaces because if in absolute terms you can park anywhere along the sidewalk (like on a public street), the neighborhood does not like tourists and being parked quite correctly but in front of the wall 'another house, the 2 cars in front and behind stuck to my car with almost degradation: 5 minutes to maneuver to get out... ____________________ IN SUMMARY ---------- Very nice house to sleep in living in one of their rooms or if you prefer, in a separate private gite.
