Fletcher Wellness-Hotel Leiden

The Hotel is a real top floor hotel and it has a SPA area on the 12 floor. It is very well located, it has parking place underground. It is clean with very large rooms. Depending on the days the SPA area might be crowded. The staff is also very nice, the wifi is available with good quality. Nice view of the City of Leiden.

I’ll start with the positives the hotel wise excellently located, the beds were surprisingly comfy and the ground floor reception is nicely decorated. Unfortunately the negatives far outweigh the positive. We booked a luxury double room, on arrival we were given room 19. Essentially this is a forgotten attic room. The decor is dull dated & worn. Twin beds not even a headboard just two grotty scatter cushions. The bathroom sink was cracked and there was an over bath shower that was cramped and poor water pressure. After I complained they moved us to room 2 for the remainder of the stay. This is a first floor front room. This is the blue *****ed room from the photos it looked quirky, in reality it’s grotty, dated and poorly executed. Huge bed, big enough for 3 adults, with 2 pillows. No sound insulation between the room above when the guests in the room above moved the whole room shook. There are three large single glazed overlooking the canal unfortunately this meant we could hear noise from the street & bars etc. There is an over bath shower the fitting is broken so cannot be adjusted & the shower head kept falling down. The sink plug was blocked with dirt. We paid for the breakfast and regretted doing so- it’s basic & the fruit juice tasted watered down! We wish we’d gone out for it. The staff were surley. I had to arrange with the housekeeper to move rooms, it was too difficult for the receptionist. I appreciate this is a very old building but there was no excuse for the condition. I would recommend you stay elsewhere.
Bastion Hotel Leiden Voorschoten

That day, the hotels in Rotterdam and Amsterdam were all booked, and I finally booked this one, and the price should have gone up. The location is rather off, it should be difficult to get there without driving. The service attitude is okay, it seems to be the hotel of a small football club. Free parking, there are parking spaces

Very intimate hotel, spacious room with kitchenette, functional but a little small bathroom. The decoration is very pleasant. The area is quiet and a 5/10 minute walk from the center. Breakfast (free on the first day) is good but cold and not plentiful enough. The products are quality, salty/sweet. We regret the cost of parking which is not the responsibility of the hotel.

The hotel is located very close to the bus and train station and easy to find . The room was quiet, clean comfortable and I felt very safe on my own. The bathroom was clean and large with all amenities. There is no staff in the evenings but you can borrow plates, cutlery, wine glasses , bottle openers etc from the breakfast room . The room also has a small fridge and a kettle and there is an elevator. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is access to Netflix and Prime on the TV. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close by. I used Leiden as a base for visiting Lisse, Delft, Rotterdam, The Hague, Hillegom and Keukenhof.
Ibis Leiden Centre

Great location near the central station of the beautiful city of Leiden. The hotel itself is well into the world-known standards of the Ibis brand; as always, an Ibis hotel is a safe bet for a comfortable night with reasonable prices. Extra points for all of the helpful and sympathetic people at the check-in counter! (The picture I added is actually the windows' view from my room, which was quite pleasant - even more so with the daylight in the morning)
