The good things: nice breakfast, big clean pools and lots of sunbeds. Bed was so good and the pillows. Pool bar served affordable big salads. Private beach is clean and okay for snorkeling. Staff is really nice. Keep in mind that in this side of the island you won't see sunset but sunrise. We walked to Nidri 55min, okay easy road by the mountain. Some dogs barking but they stay at the houses. You have to go the street besides "Jimmy's house". Dont walk the high way, its dangerous especially in the late evening. But the things that bothered me a lot: bathroom is bad. There's not enough ventilation so it's moist all the time and the floor is wet from moist that comes down at the night. We have to keep doors open but when the air becomes cooler at the evening so the moisture will be there after a shower and it's so annoying!! Also a hairdryer from the 90's? It doesn't dry and overheats in the hand. We had also a big water leak from the fridge on first day but personal wasn't that interested of drying. A cleaner came after I asked twice but I had to dry the spot after her anyway. We paid for superior room but this doesn't just feel like it at all. Regretting that we didn't book just average room.. maybe we would got a better view even. And this room is "shared" one, a door separating it from someone elses. Also a small detail why I feel like this is seriously not a superior room just because we have a couch and slightly bigger room... Not the best hotel, not worth the five stars, but it was enough for me to keep me happy and relaxed. I came for the private beach. 7/10

Porto Galini is huge, has absolutely no sign of the famous Greek hospitality and kindness, has a lot of steps and a great view from the sea and a very nice private beach (stones not sand). But it is not a five-star hotel. Period. We were given a room with a small bed, a tiny bathroom, two rooms in two floors and at least 35 steps from the bedroom to the balcony. Not nice at all. A room chemically cleaned from anything cozy and so unfriendly that we did not want to be there. I went to the reception to complain over the room and ask for another. I was met with an indifference and rudeness that I have not experienced anywhere in the world before. The staff even talked back at me. That is not only rude but also shocking as you have paid 3000 euro for a week there. It really ruined the vacation and we did everything we could to be away from the hotel – which is not easy and requires a bus or a car as walking means jumping for your life on the main road passing the hotel, not to mention the rubbish thrown along the road in appalling quantities. So, if you are given room 73, I will recommend you to make a scene, denying to accept the room and wait in the reception until you a given another. After five days we got another room (waiting 1.5 hour from the time we should have changed room, which was postponing our tour in a rented car, that was absolutely great). But we only had it for two days. On the positive side the housekeeping and the staff in the breakfast cafeteria is very professional, nice and friendly. On the beach you can call for service that will bring you drinks and snacks. Now, some people will appreciate this as a luxury. The mainly Italian or East European guests seemed to do so. I would any day change the beach staff for professional and welcoming people at the reception. But no worries, we will not be coming back.

Very nice resort with amazing private beach, the hotel was full capacity but it never felt too busy we could always find place by the beach. We stayed in a superior suite family of 4 which was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and been serviced everyday. Couple of points that could be better for mgt. to consider More coffee machines or faster ones during breakfast as it was taking forever with long queues every morning we stayed for a week and it was a same everyday. Other recommendations will be get some new hair dryers please the ones in the rooms are from the 90’s and didn’t work all the time and when worked it was taking forever to dry. (3 girls in family) it was taking like 45 mins. Over all very nice experience

A fabulous experience.. - beautiful hotel with its own beach where you can paddle board, kayak, always get a sun lounger even in august! - 5 clean stunning pools which never felt busy - the best boat trip with Nikos from the hotel jetty who took us all around Meganissi and some top snorkelling stops, he is great fun and kept the lefkas wine flowing! - fantastic breakfasts with the most smiley lady squeezing fresh orange juice non stop, great start to the day - incredible sushi, Greek and fish nights .. no queues just great service and entertainment. - ordering wine and hot dogs to the room, keeping children happy, Timos was always on hand to help great chap! - the best kids club.. children went anytime between 10-6 .. non stop crafts and painting lovely staff - Elena at the bar served us some top cocktails and was so helpful and professional Overall, one of the best hotels we have been to, Felt so relaxed after six nights there with our 4 and 7 year old and would love to return! :)

A family of 5, we stayed for a couple nights to decompress before travelling across Lefkada and Kefalonia. So it was all about the services and I have to say the buffet breakfasts and private beach were particular highlights. In fact, the beach set up is probably one of the best we’ve experienced. We chose to eat locally in Nikiana (a short drive away) which has a lovely little quayside with a choice tavernas / grills. Views of Aktio-Vonitsa from the hotel are sensational.

Very disappointed, we only had 2 nights there, our shower head was broken, the fridge wasn’t cold even though we put it on cold, and the reception was very rude, will not be coming back also the cocktails were very weak, we also waited to be served for one hours at the beach chairs

I'll start with the good things: The resort is stunning, well-kept, full of vegetation and flowers, everything is taken care of with attention. The hotel area is clean and beautiful. The private beach is one of the most beautiful I've seen, tiny stones (no need for special shoes), quiet, clear water, you can see the fish. You can take as many sap boards and kayaks from the lifeguard (free) as you want, there is a waiter on the beach from 11 am to 6 pm and there is a nice menu of food, drinks and alcohol. The pools are also clean and pleasant, we were mostly at the beach. There is no music on the beach or at the pool, so a pleasant silence, and a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is great, you can arrive between 7.30 and 11am and it is very convenient for both early risers and late sleepers. Lots of choice and we all enjoyed ourselves. The staff is all nice, alert, available and patient. We took a 2-room suite, which was large, spacious and bright. A very comfortable double bed, towels are changed when requested, large beach towels, kettle, coffee and tea. A huge balcony overlooking the sea. Now for the bad sides: In the suite - 2 sinks, in one the flow of water is too weak and quite impossible, in the second one there is a strong flow, but the sink immediately clogs. In the bath - a stream of water that is sometimes hot and sometimes cold, and you can't do anything with it. Just got cold water and then hot water throughout the shower. Imagine children showering like this. When we contacted reception about the issue, they sent a technician, who said it was fine and he didn't see a problem, and only after I asked him to check the current for a minute, not a few seconds, did he replace the faucet itself. Admittedly, the faucet was much more comfortable, but of course it didn't solve the problem and all our showers were while we were alert. The air conditioner - it didn't cool enough, it doesn't manage to cool the room when it's very hot outside. Pleasant in the evening, but not cold enough during the day. We contacted reception about this as well, they sent a technician who worked for a long time in the room, and the problem was not solved. We were left with puddles on the floor and I had to ask the receptionist for a maid to come and clean. The air conditioners are outdated, low down close to the floor, and not well function. In the bedroom - only one Electrical outlet!!! I connected the kettle to it and that's it. You have to bend down between the wall and the table, move the table to reach it, and connect the kettle. I left it like that, because it is impossible to go through this whole story every time just to switch between appliances. That's why all phone charging, etc. had to be done in the central room, where there were more sockets. A big disadvantage - it is not possible to darken the room. The curtains are not color block and in the morning when the sun rises, the whole room is bathed in light. We asked for a solution for this, but

We thought that this was a great hotel. Everything went well - the room, the food, the pools, BEACH OF We liked this hotel very much. The room, the food, pools, beach and the staff were all excellent. The dramatic location does mean that there a lot of steps but the staff do run about with buggies if you need a lift to reception. The only criticism would be that there is very little information about the hotel itself - no brochure/folder in the room with a map perhaps.

We stayed for one week at Porto Galini and it was an amazing experience from start to finish and it far exceeded our expectations. The pictures on their website and on Tripadvisor do not do the place justice as it was magnificent. The private beach is so beautiful that we honestly didn’t even go to any of the “must visit” beaches in Lefkada because the beach was perfect and the thought of driving to another beach and renting chairs and umbrellas didn’t appeal to us. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas at the pools and beach and we never struggled to find one. We stayed in a suite which we found very basic, one particular annoyance was that there was a lack of storage in the room with only one double cupboard with hanging space for four people, which resulted in us storing our clothes on the desks. The other minor annoyance was the lack of plug points next to the bed which meant you couldn’t charge a mobile device next to the bed. The beds were very comfortable, pillows could be softer for my liking but it was fine and we slept very well. Our kids loved the kids club where they couldn’t wait to return each day to the friendly staff who played with them and helped them with arts and crafts while we had some relaxing time alone in the mornings. The two a-La-carte restaurants were excellent on the premises. We had two delicious dinners at the Italian restaurant Segretto, and we had lunch several times at the Greek restaurant where we were wowed with the quality. The buffet for breakfast was very good, we didn’t eat at the buffet for dinner because upon inspecting it we found it to be overpriced and the quality lacking so we rather ate out. The staff were amazing and very well trained in all respects. Particular standouts for excellence must go to Markos and Maria at kids club. Georgina at the bar made such an effort to be friendly to our kids. Vasiliki at the restaurant was super efficient. Alexandros the waiter on the beach and Nick the lifeguard on beach was a star. Stathis at reception was also very helpful. We were very sad to leave Porto Galini as we found it to be absolute paradise and would love to return someday. Highly recommended.
