We booked this on a whim and got off to a rocky start when we received no details regarding our booking. Had to make multiple phone calls, send texts to different numbers in order to get necessary check in information (very difficult to find a number to call, some of the published numbers are outdated, we lucked out in finding the correct one). When we arrived the “cabin” was just like the ones pictured in the advertisements. All was good until we went to bed and realized there was only a thick comforter, no top sheet, etc on the bed. It’s July so even in Michigan a heavy comforter is a bit much (also knowing how often comforters are washed by hotels, it’s just gross). That would’ve been ok if the a/c worked but as the night progressed we realized the unit (it’s just a window unit cleverly disguised in a box) wasn’t working. We tried turning off and back on multiple times but it just wouldn’t come on. If the bedding had been complete with a top sheet that might’ve been manageable but again we either had a thick comforter or nothing to sleep under. I texted the cabin’s contact person (I wouldn’t have even been able to do that had I not found the number from our earlier check in fiasco) and they told us to open the windows if it wasn’t working. Thunderstorms were rolling in so you can imagine how well that would’ve worked out. They did offer at that point to move us to another cabin but by this time it was 1am and with the storms, the time, etc we decided to just suck it up and spend the rest of the sleepless night in that cabin. We hi-tailed it as soon as day broke, after a pretty hilarious attempt to get ready. There is one outlet, just one, in the entire cabin and the only mirror is hanging on a hook about 6 ft in a cabinet… the mirror is slightly bigger than an iPhone and is the same material you’d find in a play cosmetic toy for a toddler. While this type of lodging isn’t about getting dolled up, one could sure still use a mirror to put in contacts, to shave or God forbid to put on some mascara. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. While it’s got some good features, it felt like someone mass produced these things without actually trying one out. Two people moving around in that thing is nearly impossible and we are not big people. I’d skip the hundreds of dollars to book one and just go camping instead, it’s practically the same experience.

Had a lovely weekend “camping”. It was quiet (Sunday through Tuesday) and peaceful. Enjoyed the fire, the bed was comfy (still recommend a top sheet), and the heat worked in the cold evenings. Everything was clean and set up the way described in another review. Agree that it would be nice for the amenities to be free for the price of the cabin, but with the price of anything nowadays it just makes sense to bring your own anyway. Cute little lake across the street from the entrance to the campsite. Perfect for watching the sunset.
