This is an amazing hotel in an amazing location right near the slopes. The quality of service and food was outstanding. Warm and cosy and perfect Spa/Sauna for the end of the day relax. Breakfast before hitting the slopes had everything you could want, and some cosy night drinks in the lounge by the fireplace really topped off the day.

I’ve been to Hotel Kristberg several times and I think its the place to live in when you are in Lech. The history of the hotel but most importantly the combination of superb service, a fantastic breakfast buffé that will set you up for a succesfull day of skiing! When you get back home you head down for the amazing spa for recovery, you got several different saunas, relaxaing room, cold bath and Jacuzzi. After a couple of hours in the spa you go for dinner, I love food so this is one of the reasons I love the concept at Kristberg where you have a 5 course meal everyday. When you go back to the luxerious and spacious room - a great night sleep is waiting with amazing blankets (I wished I could have them at home) Lech as village will provide you numerous ski shops, High end clothing shops, restaurants, afterski bars etc. We brought two friends from USA and they told is it was the best ski trip they have had in their whole life and that the experience with hotel Kristberg was extraordinary! Thank you Kristberg, we will be back!

Welcoming hotel run by the Zimmermann family for generations. Here you get most of the best, such as large rooms, pleasant social areas with a large fireplace, a cozy bar to meet at, an excellent spa with sauna, steam sauna, whirlpool, relaxation room with the possibility of massage by certified therapists. Large breakfast buffet where nothing is missing. For dinner, several delicious dishes are served, with plenty of options to choose from, including Austrian specialties. The hotel offers a warm personal welcome and the rooms are cleaned several times a day. In short, Hotel Kristberg is an excellent choice that we have never been disappointed with and we will happily return to again and again

What an amazingly charming hotel! This is my first trip to Lech and I can’t imagine staying in a more perfect place. There is a friendly, family oriented warmth you experience at the Kristberg. The staff throughout makes you feel welcome and catered to. Possibly since this is a property developed and operated by the Austrian ski legend Egon Zimmerman and is still run by the family today, that pride of providing a quality experience for its guests is alive and well. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. A generous selection of items are available at the elegant buffet and is accompanied by many ala cart selections you can order to your taste and desires. It was a nice touch that each table has a plaque with your groups names, again providing that personal touch that makes you feel catered too! We loved the updated spa with several steam and dry sauna options, cold plunge, quiet rooms, whirlpool and several showers. After the hard skiing we did each day it was the perfect way to heal, socialize and just felt fantastic! I’m looking forward to returning next year to the Kristberg! Thank you Michael for making our stay so enjoyable!

Be very very careful when you book with these people. They will take your full cost up front. If you need to cancel, as I did, two months before, they will keep the full amount according to their confirmation. Here is their rationale: "Beginning of January is the most busy time of year for us, and we have of course been holding your confirmed room for you and were not able to rent them to other guests, which at this time of year is close to impossible as guests are already booked in Lech” Will my €1160 room be rented out between November and January? Of course it will. I will never book with Hotel Kristberg again and I would advise you to be very cautious with them.

This will be admittingly long. NOTE WELL: This is my first trip to Austria and until I stayed at the Hotel Kristberg I had never met any of the staff, managers and owner(s) of the Hotel. This is a bonafide, no-string attached review. We flew to Zurcih via Boston and boarded a bus to Lech, where we would be dropped off at the bus stop and order a taxi to our hotel…or so we thought. Whether through magic, voodoo or just good old fashion top notch service there was a driver, his name was Radi, (and some other guy named Micahel Zimmerman) from the Hotel Kristberg waiting for us. When we arrived at the hotel, we were escorted to the lobby and Radi quickly transported our luggage to our room as we checked in. *We later learned that the hotel had checked in with the bus company for passengers that are booked at their hotel. It was a very nice surprise. You instantly feel, no, you immediately know that the right decision for your stay was made the moment you arrive at Hotel Kristberg. Greeted by a generous platter of homemade cookies and the lovely Katarina at the front desk it was clear that top notch service is the Hotel’s priority. I’m making the very broad assumption that it all starts at the top, as that “Micahel Zimmerman guy” is the Hotel Proprietor!!!! The Kristberg Hotel is the definition of charming. I don’t know how they have pulled this off but it is both family friendly while also being romantic. The hotel itself is very well maintained by attentive and friendly staff. The theme is skiing and the hearty outdoors; rightfully so as the Hotel Kristberg proprietor, Michael Zimmermann, is the nephew of Olympic Gold Medalist and hotel Founder Egon Zimmermann. Michael, your uncle would be very, very proud of the tradition of excellence you are carrying on. As I explored the property I found on display many of the awards, some of the actual equipment and a treasure trove of photos depicting Egon’s many triumphs. Truth be told, I could have spent a good portion of my trip staying indoors and absorbing the history of the hotel, scenic views and warm “home away from home” atmosphere while enjoying a toasty Gluhwein. As you make your way to the lounge area, appointed with a lovely fireplace, you realize it's so much more than a lounge. It’s as if someone took your favorite and most cherished memory of your favorite holiday and transported it there. The comfortable couches, chairs and decor are something I’m eager to return to. Janina and May both provided excellent service as bartenders and their knowledge of the local history for some of the beverages we drank was impressive. Enzian Root Schnapps comes to mind. Needless to say, when I visited the lounge area I never wanted to leave…alas…a person needs to eat and eat we did! Dinner and Breakfast were included with our stay and this was not some all inclusive type menu where everything looks and tastes the same. Even as I type this I’m dreaming of my return for the 5 course mea

Really pleasant stay in this comfortable, traditional hotel which is something of a shrine to Olympic skier Egon Zimmermann and still owned by his family. Apart from the excellent service (notably in reception and the perfectionist barman) and renovated spa, there is a uniquely atmospheric fondue stube which was a real highlight of the stay. The fondue itself cost no extra, tasted superb and came with extremely generous helpings. Excellent stay.

Kristberg is a great hotel! Comfortable and very clean rooms where the staff attend the room several times a day. Great breakfast buffet with everything you need and a little bit more. The five-course evening meal with several choices was always superb. Great spa after a day of skiing with two steam baths a sauna, a jacuzzi and a silent relaxation part. The staff always welcoming and asking how your day was and checking if you needed anything. I felt truly taking care of in an personal and good way. I can truly recommend The Kristberg and will keep coming back to this great hotel in this great skiing area of Lech.

Thanks Team Kristberg for another great week. Our family are amazed by how you managed to improve both the facilities and services year after year. This year we specially appreciate the added small details with a female touch you have done and as always the attentiveness from the staff now even better than before. As always the food is great with a large choice to pick from both to breakfast and dinner. Rooms and all facilities cleaned several times a day. The spa and relax was greatly appreciated after a long day of skiing. The staff very attentive and always willing to give you the best experience. We (age between 21-62) can highly recommend this great family hotel and we will definitely be back hopefully sooner than later.
