Hotel Arlberg Lech

There are probably not enough superlatives to describe this hotel. Having been to Lech in winter, the Arlberg was always considered one of the top and exclusive places to stay. We had eaten here many times, but never stayed. Discovering it was open in summer, we adjusted our travel and booked it for a week when they opened. Our room was on the third floor with an amazing view of the Olmsberg from our balcony. The room is a mix of traditional and new, with a gorgeous modern bathroom, lots of closet space, a small fridge with beverages, and lots of small details to make it comfortable. The lights are designated by settings, ie., sunny, cloudy, night and by the bed, there is a special nightlight setting for the toilet area. Details matter, and there is a small area by the entrance with hooks for jackets, a seat for putting on shoes (with a stone area below for storing boots, not to damage to the wood floor.) Just one of many in the room. The hotel is a very traditional Austrian design, with a chalet feeling, the imprint of the family is all over, in pictures and decor infused with modern amenities in the spa and pool area. You can swim from the inside out to the outside pool, too. There is also an indoor pool. This is a place that welcomes you into their home with hospitality. The bar area is huge with comfortable seating all over, definitely an apres ski (and afternoon/evening) gathering place. There are several dining areas. We had half board, which was wonderful. Breakfast and a five course gourmet dinner each day. The main dining is beautifully laid out with banquets. The arrangement of tables allows for an intimate setting. The dining room staff is very professional, friendly and welcoming. They are dressed in the traditional Austrian garb, dirndls and trachen (different colors for morning and night.) Again, the details. Our table menu was always in English, from one day to the next, some of our preferences were always pre-set. Breakfast is a typical European buffet, with a separate menu for ordering additional things. All the food is delicious and fresh. On sunny mornings, you could eat outside on the “Sonneterrase.” Heaven! Dinner was a new menu each night, salad buffet, appetizer, soup, entree and dessert. Each night was delicious, we didn’t want to go anywhere else. It was a comfortable, unhurried meal. We were seated in such a way, we could also “meet” our neighbors and had wonderful conversations with two couples. The Schneider family is so welcoming. I met Hannes Schneider when I had a question about something. He is so gracious! He greeted us each day like family. I think that is one of the joys about this place. You feel so welcome and like family. I mentioned I like the French dressing and would love the recipe. That and a full bottle of homemade dressing was given to us on our last day. We had an Extraordinary hotel experience at Hotel Alberg Lech. The reason was that the Schneider Family has run this hotel with the love of a family for its child and the attention to detail like a fine watch or expensive motor car (the hotel owns a beautiful antique Bentley! We've been privileged to stay at many fine hotels but very few have consistently been tops in so many ways with the entire Schneider Family leading the way. And we now want to return. The redesigned rooms are beautifully designed, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, the dining room staff (we went half board) and food are tops, and the location and mountain views are fabulous. Who could want anything else? Perfect stay.

The service in the hotel is superb and the food is of high quality. Both the selection of the breakfast buffet items as well as some sections of the hotel (check in area, non-renovated rooms, hallways) aren’t up to the standard that the cost per night would suggest.

Probably one of the best resorts in the Austrian alps. As guest at Arlberg you experience world class service and extremely friendly staff!

We have been to the Arlberg for some years now and have become acquainted with the Schneiders. This was our return after the COVID years and we were so glad to renew our custom. Some of the old staff have left sadly but the standards and quality have been continued to be consistently high. Attention to detail remains exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our return!

A fantastic hotel with amazing friendly and accommodating service. Our family stayed for 4 nights in july and to be honest we can be a complicated bunch. Julius from the reception was incredibly accommodating in showing us around the property and ensuring we all had rooms to our satisfaction. Thank you! The food was consistently top notch and the staff made sure our dietary requirements were met. You must try their Strudels! Nearby is also a beautiful golf course which we enjoyed on multiple days and the outside pool provides a super relaxing spot to swim and lounge. Overall this is an incomparable hotel that manages to make you feel right at home from the first moment thanks to the very friendly, funny and accommodating service. We will be back!!

the quality and attitudes of your service staff exemplified your 5 star rating status! My most favorite Arlberg space was the the terrace (patio) where I enjoyed viewing the most beautiful and picturesque lawn, gardens and mountain vistas I have ever seen. Keep on doing the same things!

There are no words to describe the character and quality of the hotel. Mr. Schneider and his family or the core of this hotel and make it one of the greatest hotels to stay in.
