Quality Inn

This hotel is just down the hill from Dartmouth Medical Center and across the road from the Dartmouth Coach so ideally located. The owners have made a good attempt at upgrading an older property and where they have fallen short it is still AOK by me. At literally half the rate of the Hilton Garden Inn I can overlook a lot when all I needed was an overnight due to outpatient surgery and being advised NOT to drive after the medical procedure. The new staff was excellent and quite helpful. My room was quite nice with my only issue being the variety of light bulbs being ”Warm” and ”Cool” colored. Attention to detail is lacking. WiFi in the rooms is there yet limited so I found myself doing a retro visit sitting in the lobby where the WiFi is excellent. I would hope that the owners will read this and invest in some boosters that will provide WiFi to all rooms.. even those at the end of the hallways. BTW, Dartmouth Heater Road medical building is about 50 yards from this Choice Hotel.

We were going to Dartmouth College, so the location was great as there is only a 8 minute drive there. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel, which is very convenient and there is a Starbucks within the hotel. There is a great seafood restaurant Jesse only 2 minute drive away and Salem and Hanover offer many dining choices. I used the gym and everything was perfect.

Stayed two nights here, generally visiting the Woodstock VT area and not wanting to pay Woodstock fall prices. The 5 stars is for what you expect from a hotel like this. Clean, updated comfortable and helpful employees. The servers at the breakfast were helpful and nice.

First I want to state the entire staff were extremely helpful, polite and pleasant. My issues relate mostly to the hotel's business model of over-charging and skimping. I'm sure many readers will consider $300.00 per night not excessive. But a $20 plus dollar per plate breakfast buffet was another inflated cost. A cost we decided not to incur and instead went in to town for a superior meal at a much more reasonable price. The coffee pods in our room were not restocked during our stay. I was also disappointed to be given a queen sized accommodation when the reservation was for a king sized bed. Guests are only allowed to consume drinks in the bar area, which becomes tiresome when the bar is full and rather loud. We would have preferred to carry the drinks to our quiet room. The accommodations were clean. As I said, the staff was great. But I feel Hilton is acting overly reliant upon its patrons to beef up profits and share price.
