Many (30 or so) years ago we lived in France and stayed in a couple of the Barierre hotels in Deauville. The overall impression was one of faded grandeur - beautiful buildings, the decor not exactly tatty but a bit old school. Nowadays we regularly visit Northern France and have often though about staying here but baulked a bit at the price and also our recollection of the Deauville properties - would it be worth it ? Being a bit flush recently we took the plunge and were not disappointed. The whole place is decorated to a high standard which is new and immaculate but nonetheless faithful to the Art Deco heritage. Service is flawless - polite, friendly, efficient. It's not cheap but if you are in the area and want to push the boat out it's thoroughly recommended. Good stay, attentive and very professional staff The only downside is that there are no exit doors and intermediate entrances to access the beach, especially when you are the last one at the end of the hotel, while access to the beach is just last emergency exit door, because the hotel is very large and you always have to leave at the end to ultimately return to the same place but via the outside (exhausting in the long run)

Pour un cadeau d’anniversaire nous nous réjouissions de venir passer une nuit à 5 (2 chambres) à l’hôtel Mercure au domaine de la Petite Forêt au Touquet mais malheureusement notre séjour ne c’est pas déroulé comme nous l’espérions, réservation faite deux mois à l’avance par le biais de l’hôtel directement payé au prix fort nous avons eu 2 chambres au 3 eme et dernier étage sous les toit (très chaud et odeur désagréable) nous aurions pu espérer mieux comme chambre avec balcon comme l’hôtel en dispose, dans les deux chambres les draps et moquettes étaient tachés, la douche bouchée. L’hôtel est équipé du jolie piscine mais malheureusement très mal entretenue, carrelage sale autour de la piscine (cheveux et poussières). Tout ces signalements ont été donné à l’hôtel avant notre départ ainsi que les photos la direction n’étant pas présente on devait revenir vers moi à ce jour je n’ai eu aucun retour suite à mes différentes réclamations. Étant habitué au Touquet nous voulions séjourné dans ce nouvel hôtel mais le rapport/prix n’y est pas contrairement à d’autres hôtels aux alentours.

Hotel itself is well maintained and hygiene very good. Rooms are a little on the small side for this class of hotel, but well equipped. Quiet location a little distance out of town. Food & drink services are shared with adjoining Mercure where I was surprised/irritated to be required to pay €6,10 for a single cappuccino! So the first F&D purchase was also the last purchase on this property.
