When we arrived at the destination in the evening, we received the key from a person who did not speak a word of English. He tried to advise us using the translator app. When we got the keys to the apartment, we immediately realized that the apartment has a bad indoor air problem (mold, etc.) One member of our party immediately started showing symptoms and we realized that we cannot risk our health and stay in the property. We contacted the person from whom we got the key and explained the situation. With the help of the translator application, he stated that there is nothing he can do about it. We announced that we now have to find new accommodation to which he shrugged his shoulders. Later apparently the owner of the property contacted us and asked why we hadn't gone to their other property??? No one offered us this option when we were there. How could we have known that ourselves? The host refused to refund the money, so I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Stunning chateau, grounds and view of the Seine. The beige was room was clean and well equipped with a comfy bed. We had a fantastic view out of the windows too. We were slightly disappointed that the outdoor hot tub wasn’t up and running, as the pics had enticed us. We were also told prior to our stay that dinner would be available however once we arrived we were told no dinner until the next evening. The breakfasts and dinner we had were great and typically French. We enjoyed the billiard room after. It would be great if there was a self serve mini bar in this room or the bedrooms for the price.

Fabulous one night stay on our way back to England. Natti was very welcoming and showed us all the amenities and things to do in the vicinity. The kids were so excited to spy on the wild rabbits, chicken, peacocks, horses and Yoyo the pig! The view was breathtaking, the interiors grand and clean. We loved our room full of light, with a giant bath that was a hit with the kids + spacious shower cubicle for us. We had a lovely meal at the hotel, we chose our dishes when we arrived at 6pm and could eat at 7.30pm outside admiring a fab sunset with our kids running around. Slept so well with a plethora of comfy cushions. Fab finish with the generous breakfast, the croissants were a delight. Thank you and would love to be back for longer next time to take advantage of bikes, jacuzzi and explore some more.

Damp, dirty mattress, broken front door lock, hat to put chair under handle for safety when in. No lighting to the house. Very uneven paving around the front of the house, had to walk on the grass to get to the front. Views and wildlife fantastic, The donkeys, horses and peacocks a shear delight.

The chateau building is extremely beautiful, to the rear it overlooks the River Seine which is a fantastic. There is no reception desk, just a handbell on a table, and we were greeted by one of the housekeepers, who showed us to our room and the gym with a jacuzzi which was for our exclusive use. Then she came back and apologised as we were booked into the Sable Room which apparently was better than the original room we were taken to. I would loosely describe the interior of the chateau as ‘shabby chic’ as the paintwork was very chipped, most of the furniture was cheap and wobbly (none of those lovely old period French beds and furniture found in French brocantes). The bathrooms were rather dated but not original and would again have been lovely with a period freestanding bath etc. but all the rooms were very clean. There were hardly any other guests in the chateau but some people were housed in nearby gites. A few days before our visit we were sent a dinner menu so we had emailed in advance to book a table for our first evening. The staff didn’t speak English and when I reminded them we had booked dinner I was told the chef was tired and wouldn’t be providing dinner that night! This was strange but she said he would cook dinner the next night. So we drove through 3 small towns before we found anywhere to eat - it was a pizza takeaway with a few tables! So the next night we came down for dinner, rang the bell in the hallway and waited for someone to come, kept ringing the bell and eventually the woman who we think is the owner appeared talking loudly on her phone, walking around, ignoring us completely and wandered off again, it felt like a scene from Fawlty Towers. We did eventually get hold of an housekeeper and had our dinner about 2 hours after our 7pm arrangement and it was very good food. The two breakfasts we had were also nice. So although some aspects were disappointing, overall it was lovely to stay in this beautiful chateau for a couple of nights.,

The Chateau is truly stunning. It is charming, magnificent and effortlessly reflects old world elegance………..if you want to experience the grandeur of France’s aristocratic past then this fading echo of that period is an absolute must………the interior is an eclectic mix of the empire that France once was, gilded mirrors, enormously flamboyant bronzes and lavish marble covered walls, but now, converted into an hotel, it’s a dire and somewhat contrived reflection of a family’s interpretation of what paying guests really want when holidaying. From the middle of the last century, the new and varied owners have tried to modernize the house at different periods. Our en-suite was an original avocado coloured bathroom from the 1960s. With a bath you had to step gingerly into for a shower, it was an A&E catastrophe in waiting, I could almost hear the French ambulance screaming down the gravelled driveway to cart some unfortunate b****** off for surgery in order to remove the bidet. The shower was terrible; it was extremely cramped, the shower head needed replacing and once you’re wet, dangerous to step out of. The en-suite is dated, tired, exhausted and not very comfortable but great if you’re a dwarf. I’m afraid there’s so much wrong here that it’s impossible to really express everything without being seen as extremely precious………It’s so off the mark it seems incomprehensible that it’s actually being run as a hotel………..but it is…….and extremely poorly. Getting a drink is awkward, embarrassing, DIFFICULT, I was told by the owner’s son hat he’d find someone to help me…..I felt dreadful because it meant he would have to stop playing on his mobile phone & get off the sofa to do that……!!!!!! They don’t appear to have any ‘proper staff’, just old locals that help out……..there’s no focal point such as a reception desk. It’s very laissez-faire and you’re never really sure who are guests and who actually works there. I found myself apologising when asking for a drink. It felt very odd. I asked for a gin and tonic but was informed that they don’t have a license for spirits so I’d have to have wine……..it’s at this point that I felt the will to live slip away, but in a thankful way. I had white wine…….it was dreadful……! SERIOUSLY……how in the name of Napoleon can you get away with serving atrocious wine in a country famed for it? Heads up; they could chill it, that would help….! Unfortunately though it appears that everything is done on the cheap and that includes the wine. We opted to dine at the Chateau, purely for ease. We booked for 8:00pm…………but why bother, no one adheres to the guests preferences. A young couple complained to me because they’d booked for 7:30pm and were still waiting at 8:45pm when we had our order taken. I’ll be brief here; it was poor and obviously from packets. Salmon starter was…….slimy, I think probably frozen at one point. Risotto turned out to be macaroni. Mine was cold, clearly mine was microwaved first. There was no way either of us wa

We stayed in a house in the grounds of the chateau for six days. We were self catering but my Son paid for us all to have breakfast at the chateau, sitting on the terrace looking at the beautiful view. We had our own enclosed garden with bbq and hot tub we heated with logs. It was a fantastic place to stay we were very sorry to leave. The grounds were well kept and there is a stables in the grounds of top class horses which were let out n sectioned parts to graze. One morning we saw a boar grazing under the trees not bothered by us. There are three houses in the grounds to rent. Idyllic setting
