Mahogany Hotel Residence & Spa

The hotel is very well located, the restaurant perfect in every way, but the reception staff and the hotel manager have a rare smile and a non-existent commercial gesture. We spent a week for a professional congress in this very pleasant place. On the third day of our stay, we are two couples who had an unwanted visit in our rooms and that while we were in the shower or just for a photo of the ***** eclipse, i.e. about a quarter of an hour. Two bank cards and €200 for a couple, and a pair of gold and diamond earrings in another room were stolen. We reported the thefts to reception after checking that we hadn't just misplaced these items. We were not taken seriously at all, neither by the employees nor later by the hotel manager. We did not incriminate anyone, our rooms on the ground floor and on the first floor were easily accessible from the terrace and balcony. We were visibly embarrassing and were asked to go and file a complaint without any compassion. Fortunately the police were more attentive and recorded our complaints. On our return from the police station, the director told us that the doors of the rooms at the time we received these fraudulent visits had only been opened by our own magnetic cards. In short, we robbed ourselves just to poison the existence of this friendly gentleman and to waste three hours at the police station! Of course no taxi was offered to us, we managed like grown-ups! The couple whose payment cards were stolen were debited in shops not far from the hotel just after the theft. When the manager received us, or rather met us in a passing place, he told us that he had looked for the first business on the internet and that he had not found a shop with that name. Here again, we probably invented this story… The bank has proof of it! No attention afterwards, no word of apology for the disappearance of a jewel offered at the birth of my son. If we refocus on the hotel, the staff parades all day in your rooms, one to make the bed, one for the towels, yet another to check if it has been done and so on . This little world enters your home, because yes we are at home as soon as we have rented the room, without knocking, and since you do not have a tag at the door to ask not to disturb, if you grant yourself a nap or a shower, even with the door blocked by a chair, this staff enters, at the risk of finding you in an awkward outfit… you have to shout to stop these intrusions in your room… The elevators have been broken for five days out of seven We left this site with no regrets, we were victims but for the management and the reception we were above all a beautiful star.

We arrived at the Hotel in the evening. The young lady at Reception was very friendly and helpful. The Reception area is like a counter / booth and not very impressive as an hotel reception desk. The area seemed very dated and dull. The garden that you walk through to get to your room is very pleasant as the flowers and plants gave it a tropical feel but it was fairly dark around the path. The corridor to our room was stark and with the arches that went along the wall you are able to see the pool area. As it was dark I was a little concerned that anyone could be lurking behind an arch as you're entering your room. The room was really very basic. Very old with rattan style furniture that have seen better days. After the long flight I sat on the sofa and suddenly a cockroach ran from underneath the sofa towards the coffee table. The shower was great. The pressure was really good and after the issues and delays with Air France, the long waits & flights from Europe to Guadeloupe; having a good shower was most welcoming. The bathroom itself was dated. The pillows in the room were really small for what looked like a king size bed. They looked more like cushions than pillows. There was only one thin sheet, no blankets and the AC thermostat couldn't be moved to make the room a bit warmer - the room was extremely cold. The bed was comfortable and we were able to get a decent night's sleep. The restaurant was closed although based on the time it should have been open. We decided to try and find something to eat. The area around the hotel was very dark, with not much pavement for walking, not enough street lights and the few that they had were not very bright. The hotel is located around 20 minutes from the airport with the evening traffic. The cost of the one night's stay for this basic hotel was around USD200. Definitely not worth the 4* rating.

I've spent three nights at the hotel zenitude my stay has been relatively well spent being a custom of the site I already knew where I put my feet it's a quite interesting hotel quality price it's for that I'm going there often but I'm forced to do so. to note that d'année en année il y a dégradation des lieux due à une certaine négligence notamment en ce qui concerne l'entretien des chambres qui, selon moi, n'est pas sérieusement fait ( équipement veste ; cordeau déchiré ; I had already made a previous assessment of the hotel in the context of another stay and I had already complained of many disturbances that come to the people I have just mentioned I hope that owners will react to correct everything because if there is no change I think I would choose another destination for my weekend
