Château du Boulay Morin

This is really the best place I have ever stayed with family, the environment was quiet and serene . It was also a hospitable and friendly place I would definitely love to come back here again. This places was really comfortable at the same time economically.

We had a fabulous overnight stay here and were very well looked after by Phillipe and his family and team. If you have a special car and the sun appears, you can take some lovely photos in front of this grand house. There's a lovely pool, tennis court and some football goals. Inside a pool table, and table football. Phillipe is a lovely character who even leant us one of his old cars (we only had 2 seaters!!!) to drive to the nearest village for dinner!! Breakfast is a lovely informal affair. Can I say it's an immersive experience?

The photos of the Chateau do not do justice to the superb building. The welcome from Philippine, Nicolas and Philippe was just like being welcomed to a friends house. The rooms are as you would expect in a grand old house - different to a modern hotel but spectacular. The swimming pool was great even in the very mediocre weather we were having. We would go back asap. There is so much to learn about a house like this.

What a find! An unforgettable experience! We stayed only one night athe Chateau de Boulay Morin on our drive back in our classic car from the north of England to our home in south western France. Frome the moment we drew up at the side of the hotel we were welcomed by Phillipe, the proprietor, who enthusiastically discussed our vehicle and the collection of cars he had owned over the years. We were then given a tour of his magnificent chateau, with details of it's history - it is one of three buildings built by King Louis XIV (the others being le Palais de Versailles and Le Petit Trianon), and this one was built for his mistress! The whole experience is not that of a conventional hotel stay, here you feel you are a house guest in a very fine country house and you are encouraged to walk in the extensive grounds and woodland that surround the Chateau. Our room was spacious and comfortable with fews over the grounds to the rear of the building. The bed was large and comfortable and the room's furnishings were eclectic and charmingly (but slightly) worn, but evrything was perfectly clean and in working order. One small observation, the two bedside lamps had naked light bulbs - perhaps a quick trip to IKEA to buy a couple of small lampshades would be in order? Breakfast is served at an impressively large table in the formal dining room, which encourages guests to get to know each other - a great idea. The selection of breakfast items was very wide and of good quality - freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly baked baguettes and viennoiserie with Bonne Maman conserves were all appreciated. The Chateau is a very relaxing, peaceful place to stay and relax. We didn't try the heated swimming pool, but it looked very inviting, particularly when the water was at 30 degrees celsius (and we stayed in the latter half of May 2023). There is also a fine looking tennis court and boulodrome for sporty types to enjoy. An unforgettable place to stay; we hope to stay again in the future, but this time for longer! If you are passing close to Evreux, be sure to give the Chateau Boulay Morin a try - it's quite an experience!

This place is amazing. We visited with our 2 young children and they fed the rabbits and the chickens in the morning - they were enchanted. The rooms and beds are comfortable then breakfast delicious. The pool and facilities are stunning. Can't recommend this highly enough.
