There are three hotels scattered across the street. They appear to be owned by the same management but do not physically connect. The main reception is in the Hotel Elégance which has one of the small pools. Down the road there are some rooms, which appear to be a bit larger and more modern but these have no direct access to hotel facilities. There is no pool here so residents have to walk to the Elégance or cross the road to the Plaisir. The Plaisir houses a further two small pools, one heated, one not, and the breakfast/restaurant area. The rooms at the Plaisir are small and basic, with limited cupboard space for clothes and a small shower room. The TVs in the Plaisir only have French and some German channels, which might be an issue if it rains and the kids want to watch some TV. Intercommunicating rooms appear to be available for families but check that your kids’ rooms are in the same complex as it might be hard to change in busy periods. The Hotel Ile de Re is a bit further down the road, opposite the campsite. Because the properties are scattered, it does not feel like a unified hotel, but it was quiet and relaxed. Overall, it was fine as a base from which to explore this very pretty island, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. It is very close to the lovely Le Bois-Plage beach and about 15 mins walk to the Le Bois-Plage centre, with a market, bakeries, supermarket, some other shops and a few restaurants. There is also a Navette stop close by for free bus rides to the gorgeous St Martin and La Flotte and other parts of the Island.

We have stayed at this hotel for four times in the past ten years. Over the years, the cleanliness and quality has steadily declined, which is why I now feel obliged to write an evaluation. We had rented the "freshly renovated villa" for a price of ~400€ per night. Now it is a matter of definition what "freshly renovated" means, but apparently nothing has been renovated there in the last few years (or even decades). The bathroom, the toilet, the kitchen including the electrical appliances, everything was old and in a very unkempt condition. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the hallway, the smoke detectors didn't work, and the couch in the living room was so dirty and stained that we didn't want to use it. There were footprints on the walls, the furniture, towels, plates, cups, cutlery - everything was dirty. In general, it gave the impression that no one was taking care of the maintenance of the hotel. We have complained about this several times at the reception, but no compensation was provided, nor were we offered a discount. The location of the hotel is excellent, but for us it is no longer an option for future stays.

Classic room booked but some adjustments had been made. The plus: a small kitchenette that was very useful for lunch because the hotel is very close to the O*Pas des Boeufs beach. The minuses: some finishing work needed (bathroom passage with old door frame visible), factory-style bathroom door that slides for nothing on the rail (nighttime awakenings) and an electric meter (room 16) that disturbed my wife in her sleep. However, after 3 visits, the hotel is almost perfect and ideal for enjoying the beach without the inconvenience of the journey. Hearty and varied breakfasts. Good season

Tres bon accueil , receptionnistes superpros , chambre agreable et propre . Les p'tits dej sont tres complets en buffet possiblité de le prendre a l'exterieur autour de la piscine Le restaurant se trouve dans un cadre agreable possibilité de manger a l'exterieur autour de la piscine . Il faut compter 60€ /pers sans les boissons Les - : le passage des personnes du menage tardif ( 15hoo 16hoo ) L'exterieur meriterait un petit rafraichissement (dallage qui bougent ) Le prix de la chambre est assez cher mais justifié par l'emplacement ... En résumé nous avons passé de tres bonnes vacances mais onéreuses !!

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l’accueil, la prévenance de l’ensemble du personnel, la qualité et la variété du buffet du petit déjeuner, la qualité des installations (SPA notamment) et bien d’autres choses… Il m’a manqué du thé vert tant en chambre qu’au buffet du petit déjeuner…c’est une toute petite chose !

Une escapade en solo, au calme sur l'île de ré. Hotel plein de charme avec un studio à 300 m de la plage, et plutôtbien situédans l'île. Le SPA est le + dans ce week-end détente ! Le top ? Le buffet petit-déjeuner, un régal ! A refaire mais cette fois avec mon + 1.

Service et accueil impeccable, nous avons reçu un message agréable quelques jours avant pour savoir si nous avions des besoins (restaurant, activités, etc) lors de notre séjour. Personnel aux petits soins, souci du détail. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est varié et soigné. Rien à redire à part que nous serions restés plus longtemps avec grand plaisir!

Le prix demandé ( et encore hors saison) ne reflète pas de l’ensemble . Rien de préciser , chambre pas spécialement propre . On vous impose des heures de réservations spa alors qu’il y a déjà du monde dedans. Odeurs pas terrible et eau du jacuzzi froid . On vous rappel quelques heures après votre départ pour vous dire que vous avez bu deux bières dans le bar alors que nous l’avons même pas ouvert . Je serais responsable de l’hôtel , je viendrais vérifier par moi même et non pas par un retour du service de chambre .
