I can honestly say I have never had an experience quite like this one. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which is a positive thing. But….this meant that they couldn’t provide the promised hot breakfast in the morning. Again, understandable, but they offered either a to-go breakfast or a $8 gift card to a restaurant across the street. Problem was that $8 was inadequate. I ordered oatmeal, fruits, and coffee and had to pay out of pocket (pic attached). Again, not a big deal.
The room phone had a sign: “check out at 12 noon.” I called the front desk to verify. Nope, 11am. I asked if I could have until noon. “I am sorry, but we have given out all of our allotted late check-outs for the day. We are allowed 3 and we already gave 4.” Never experienced that before.
Then, I got a hard knock at my door just before 10am. It was housekeeping. They wanted to clean my room. While I was still in it. An hour before I was supposed to check out.
Finally, the shower had low water pressure, and the water was lukewarm.
This hotel is not well run, and the staff took no effort.
The one positive: it’s in a great location in Massillon.
