Cape Sounio Grecotel Boutique Resort

Gorgeous and breathtaking location with view of Temple of Poseidon and amazing service and rooms !! A definite must go !! Thank you for an amazing weekend!!

We had a fantastic (4 nights) stay at Grecotel Cape Sounio Resort—just as we had dreamed! We chose this resort because of its close proximity to Athens, making it a perfect option for those looking to avoid the hassle of traveling by plane or boat to the islands. The location is truly stunning, with rooms set among pine and olive trees and breathtaking views of the Temple of Poseidon. It was the perfect place to relax The staff was exceptional, always attentive and ready to assist. We had a minor (and probably isolated) issue with noise from neighboring rooms that almost disrupted our vacation and the team quickly stepped in and resolved it in a way that exceeded our expectations. We also enjoyed dining at the resort’s restaurants. The food was delicious, and the setting was perfect for a relaxing evening. Overall, we had a lovely time and highly recommend Grecotel Cape Sounio Resort for a relaxing and memorable getaway close to Athens.

We spend our holiday in the Grecotel Cape Sounio. At arrival at the hotel, we were heartly welcomed with a delicious welcome drink. In general, I can say that the hotel staff is very friendly. A good tip from me is to download the Grecotel App from the App Store. You will find many useful tips for your stay. You can see the hotel map, all restaurants, what they serve and some more information about what could be explore or visited during your stay. For our room we chose the Deluxe Bungalow with sea view. I liked the room very much because it was spacious, there was enough room, and the bathroom was good too. Honestly, I have to say I was surprised how well the shower worked. We also had air conditioning which is also very pleasant in warm temperatures.

Had a fantastic stay here. All the team are incredibly friendly and helpful. Good food selection and pool/ beach weren't too busy. Spa treatments were lovely- even do a kids massage! A special thanks to the very kind and patient Constantinos and team at Grecoland (kids club) who provided a varied timetable all day every day for the kids to enjoy. The Greek sky at night, Lazer Tag and Fire fly were particular favourites. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful resort for a relaxing escape. Breathtaking views and picturesque well maintained grounds. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and ready to assist with any request. Short distance from the Temple of Poseidon where you can witness the most amazing of sunsets. Highly recommended.

Tourist trap, never informed that the room was not renovated. The room was very expensive for the condition (old furniture, leaks, broken parts, mostly Arabic channels on tv, one towel for 2 people, chairs for “chevaliers” !!!. Never again !!!

For $700+ US dollars a night, they can sure do A LOT better !!! The pictures and website look good but when you arrive BE WARNED !!! Quality control and maintaining a quality and safe & clean hotel for their guests are lacking in many areas that management should have addressed. It seems that the Hotel management and staff do not fully care. Let me explain. Here are several areas of concern. # 1 - Dirty and Soiled Bedding of our Comforters, Sheets and Pillow cases. We had a 2-room with a balcony view. Upon check in…BOTH of our Bedding was filthy and dirty with brown, red and rust colors on white sheets. Looks like old fecal matter and perhaps blood? It had obviously been there for a while and so this would tell me that they don’t do proper and thorough cleaning for new guests arriving. (images attached). This is very disturbing on so many levels. # 2 - Dirty Nasty Rusted Ice Buckets and Tongs. We ordered a bucket of Ice to the room. It was served in a Rusty, Nasty, and Dirty metal ice bin. Even the Lid was nasty also. Just look at the completely rusted screw. This did not happen overnight. This is months and possibly years in the making that will make you sick. (images attached) # 3 The Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi Plaster is Falling Apart. It’s very dangerous as you could get cut or hurt!! Both the Pool and Jacuzzi were VERY Disappointing. A supposed High-end hotel should never have had this kind of destroyed amenities. Just look at all the broken plaster, ½ patched holes, and all the dangers they impose for guests wishing to use the jacuzzi. The Brown and rusted parts are not just overnight or yesterday. This is many months, possibly years in the making and consistently neglected by both management and staff. Very Poor to say the least☹ Remember, you are at their resort in the middle of nowhere with all outside shops about 20+ minutes away with a car. You are at their mercy....Dinner Buffett was about $55 Dollars and if you wanted water, it's Bottle service at about $5 per bottle. A breakfast buffet was included and ok. Most of the staff were pleasant but all the dirty, broken, and sub-par issues is why I would Never return again.

The location and atmosphere of the hotel is great! Very relaxing, superb service from all, they ere very polite and warm. The beach is absoluty the best. We looked for a lot of beachesh outside but always returned back to hotel's beach. The food was amazing, not so much but quality was very good. But! What disappointed us a lot: - is a very weak signal of wifi. - no activities during our 5 days stay. No parties and shows in the evening.. It was a little bit borning. 3 days are enough for this hotel at all - I asked for an information about grouo tours - received no answer So, For this price I think food could be more various, such a simple thing like wifi could be better. And of course more activities and shows!

Don’t believe the negative reviews!! This place is fantastic. Swift check in and golf buggy ride to our honeymoon villa. We booked this room type as it is spacious, has king bed, plenty of wardrobe space, an amazing view of sea and Poseidon Temple. Room 401 - very close to main building for breakfast and restaurants. We ate in the rooftop a la carte which was fabulous. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable about the local Greek wines. I was worried about staying here as I had read a couple of negative reviews and also wondered if the room would be renovated. We are not disappointed as it is beautiful. The interior is stylish and contemporary and the exterior spotlessly clean with manicured gardens and plenty of space to relax. The pool loungers are thick comfy loungers and well spaced out so you’re not on top of each other. Pool has lifeguards and staff setting up parasols or getting drinks. Very breezy but in 36 degrees you need it. Breakfast buffet has everything you could think of or want. Numerous tureens with hot foods outside, separate omelette area with chef preparing whatever you fancy. Amazing views of the sea with private catamarans and yachts moored up. Seriously we are picky customers but found it hard to find fault. Ate lunch at the pool restaurant and it’s lovely. Fresh seafood and salads with cold rose wine - just perfect. Short walk to private beach with bar and restaurant. It was very windy but a lovely spot. Restaurant closed for 2 days due to wind but managed to eat there on our last day and it’s lovely. We took a taxi up to the temple for €25 and he waited half hour for us. Only negative - Just a noisy family in the next villa letting their kids scream outside after midnight for half hour is not good but I suppose they’re excited. We would definitely return for a relaxing break with excellent food and drinks. The staff are lovely and helpful and care that you have a lovely stay.
